🇮🇳🇦🇫 India urges Afghan businesses to increase trade through Chabahar Port

India Ports Global Limited, the operator of Chabahar Port, has urged Afghan businesses to increase imports and exports through Chabahar Port, according to a statement issued by the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) on Saturday.

🤝 Muhammad Anwar Arifi, deputy CEO of ACCI, held an online meeting with India Ports Global Limited to discuss the commercial benefits of Chabahar Port if used for trade and transit between countries in the region.

Arifi described Chabahar as an important port for trade and transit for Afghanistan and Central Asian countries.

🚧 The Afghan official urged the Indian company to remove "obstacles" to the use of the port by Afghan traders and called for more facilities at the port.

🇵🇭 Philippines to build its first BrahMos anti-ship base at South China Sea

The Philippines is developing its first BrahMos anti-ship missile base at a naval station on the coast of Western Luzon facing the South China Sea, according to satellite images reported by Naval News.

🚀 In April, India delivered three batteries of BrahMos shore-based anti-ship supersonic cruise missiles to the Philippines Marine Corp under a $375 million deal signed in 2022.

🇮🇳 Nikhil Gupta extradited to America over alleged Pannun plot

👉 Gupta, who is suspected by the U.S. of involvement in a "plot" to assassinate pro-Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil, has been extradited from the Czech Republic, the Washington Post reports.

⚖️ He is due to be arraigned in federal court in New York on Monday and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn.

🔙 In November 2023, the US alleged that the Indian gov't "orchestrated" the attempted murder of Pannun, who is an American and Canadian citizen.
