Dear Operators,
Please be aware of current production issue:
Bitcoin block 928896, mined on 2025-12-21 22:28:26 UTC, was the first block to require more than 96 bits to store chain work value.
The third party library /batm/app/master/lib/bitcoinj-core-0.16.3.jar that CAS utilizes uses only 12 bytes(96 bits) to store the chain work value.
We are currently working on new CAS software patches for versions 20250301, 20250601 and 20250901 that will use newer version of the library bitcoinj-core-0.16.5.jar that uses 32bytes(256bits) for chain work value.
You will be informed on this channel as soon as the newer patch versions become available.
Until then we recommend NOT to restart master service on your server as the issue described above prevents server from downloading bitcoin blockchain headers from bitcoin network after start and master service is automatically shut down after 30 minutes.

More details can be found here.
Release 20251001 apart from bug fixes and improvements notably contains support for:
1. New CAS UI - In 2024 we rewritten CAS UI into ReactJS. This year we redesigned tables and widgets to be up to date with today’s UX standard. In the same time we are keeping an old CAS UI also available for those who want to stay a bit longer using legacy UI before they get familiar with new UI.
2. Added support for SumSub and GTR Travel Rule providers. Operator can now choose from 3 different Travel Rule solutions.
3. Added Liquid Bitcoin sell support. In previous release 20250901we introduced buy support.

New version 20260201 has been released today.
More details can be found here.
Release 20260201 (apart from bug fixes and improvements) notably contains support for:
1. External payments. A customer can now choose at the ATM to pay for coins with an external payment provider (instead of cash). An external payment provider can be connected to CAS via Open Extensions, and the customer (at the ATM) is redirected to the payment URL via a QR code displayed on the ATM’s screen. More about External Payments can be read here.
2. Multilingual support for Custom Fields. Custom Fields has been an important tool for Operators to obtain input from end-users. Custom Fields now support multiple languages to make the data collection even more seamless.
3. BATMSeven and BATMFour: customer presence sensing. The customer’s presence can be detected without touching the screen at all. Operator can now measure exactly how long somebody was standing in-front of the machine. Physical proximity sensor is required.
4. This release delivers Taproot address support.
5. NEW CAS UI improvements based on user feedback.
6. CANCEL button on terminal screens has been moved to top left corner.
7. And many additional improvements described in the change log.

A Message from Mr. Scott McClain:
Dear Industry Leaders,
Tennessee goes dark effective July 1st. A ban has been passed in Indiana, and bills are pending in Minnesota (SF3868) and New Jersey (S2141). Other states may follow. Your industry has no collective representation that I’m aware of. This email is going out to industry leaders collectively operating more than 25,000 kiosks nationally.
I suggest a conference call with industry to try to get ahead of this. Bitstop, Unbank and others have already expressed an interest in participating.
It’s a broad issue beyond just the bans. “Refund” mandatory statutes are ill conceived. Some states are not issuing licenses to operators. New legislation (e.g., KA, KY, WI) is being passed with no input from the broader industry.
A collective voice is needed. I saw the same thing happen 20 years ago in the Payday Loan industry when I was regulatory counsel for Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA). Industry leaders were able to put aside their competitive interests to band together at the state and federal level. With the exception of some states, that industry has survived.
The narrative needs to be changed. The numbers clearly show that consumers want convenient access to cryptocurrency. No one hears about the numerous frauds you’re preventing.
Beginning with NJ, my backyard. I’ve been working with lobbyist Matt Halpin for over 20 years, who is an MSB specialist with one of NJ’s most influential firms (njpsi.com). Together, we’ve changed laws, pushed through fee increases and backed off unfavorable legislation supported by banking and Walmart.
Perhaps we can also discuss broader strategies for other key states as well.
I’m aware that some of you have had bad experiences with lobbyists and lawyers, but for those of you who know and work with me, I’m not that guy.
I would strongly suggest we have a conversation soon. I’d like to send out a Zoom invite to each of you for Wednesday, May 20th at 4:00pm (ET). Please let me confirm your availability. Worst case scenario, Matt and I will have taken up 15 minutes of your time.
Thank you,
Scott McClain

📢 Product release: Printer Upgrade Kit for BATMTwo and BATMTwoPro
Dear Operators,
we have released a new Printer Upgrade Kit that adds a paper-receipt printer to existing BATMTwo and BATMTwoPro terminals.
The kit was developed in response to changing legislation — notably in the US — where a printed paper receipt is increasingly required and SMS or e-mail confirmation is no longer accepted. As many units were sold before a printer became mandatory, this kit provides a straightforward way to bring those machines into compliance.
Installation is fast and can be carried out by a single person, with no drilling required. The kit fits both units already in the field and new machines, uses the same proven thermal printer as other BATM models, and allows paper to be reloaded from the outside.
