Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymin said: "It is appropriate for a person when he is supplicating to start with himself first, Musa a.s said: {My Lord Forgive me and my brother} Nuh a.s said {Our Lord forgive me and my parents} He preceded himself before his parents and Prophet عليه الصلاة والسلام said (Start with yourself first). So starting with ourselves is better in supplication."

📌 A simple breath…
Ibn al-Dunya mentioned that the Prophet Dawud (alayhi salam) asked
Allāh:
"What is the least of your blessings?.”
Allāh revealed to him,
"O Dawud, take a breath."
Dawud did so, and Allāh told him:
"That is the least of My Blessings on
you.”

Taqwa & Good Character
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
“The Prophet ﷺ established a relationship between the fear of Allāh and good character, because fearing Allāh improves the relation between the servant and Allāh, and good character improves the relation between a person and others. Therefore, fearing Allāh makes it possible for Allāh to love him, and good manners makes it possible for people to love that person.”

Say to one who hopes for eternity in this life: "You, may God grant you wellbeing, do not hear!
For death has stood atop a pulpit of advice And warned you of its occurrence.
Yet you paid no heed—it will not bypass you Except briefly, suddenly felling you."

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“A prostitute had once been forgiven. She passed by a dog panting near a well. Thirst had nearly killed him, so she took off her sock, tied it to her veil, and drew up some water. Allah forgave her for that.”
