Safiyyah, the daughter of Shayebah, said:
“While we were at A’isha’s (radi Allahu anha) we mentioned the women of Qureish and their good favors, then A’isha said: “indeed the women of Qureish have a good favor and by Allah I have not seen better than the women of Al-Ansar in their strength of acceptance of the Book of Allah and in the belief in the Revelation: At the time when Surat An-Nur was sent down (and in it Allah says): “Let them (believing women) draw their veils over Juyubihinna.” soon their husbands turned to them reciting what Allah had sent down to them (i.e. the above Ayah), the man recites to his wife, his daughter, his sister and to every female relative. Not a single woman of them except that she took up her engraved Mirt (55) (wrapper) and covered her head and face in acceptance and belief in what Allah had sent down from His Book. The next morning they were behind the Prophet (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم), covered as if black crows were on top of their heads.” (56)
Therefore, there is no choice but to submit the order of Allah and no hesitation should exist in following the ruling of Allah. So come for repentance, O My Muslim Sister, and watch for words like “I will repent, I will pray, I will cover with Hijab“, because delaying the repentance is a sin that you must repent from! Say as Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) said on the tongue of Moosa (May Allah’s peace be upon him) :
عَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ لِتَرْضَىٰ
“I HASTENED TO YOU, O MY LORD, TO PLEASE YOU” (Qur’an 20:84)
And say as the believing men and women said:
 سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۖ غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ
“WE HEAR AND WE OBEY. (WE SEEK) YOUR FORGIVENESS, OUR LORD, AND TO YOU IS THE RETURN” (Qur’an 2: 285)
(55) With pictures of houses and dwellings.
(56) Reported in The Tafseer of Al-Qur’an Al-Ath’eem by Ibn Katheer 5:90 (Arabic)

Painting the Nails Red and Growing Them Long:

The fourth is the other ugly custom, which has crept in from the profligate women of Europe and affected many Muslim women, and that is to paint their nails with red varnish, which is nowadays known as "manicure", in addition to which, some of them grow their nails long-—and some young men may do the same thing -even though this constitutes a changing of Allāh's creation and incurs Allāh's Curse upon the one who does it, as we have seen earlier. It also entails imitation of the disbelieving women, which is forbidden in numerous traditions, including the words of the Prophet (ﷺ): "He who imitates any people [in their actions] is considered to be one of them."^100
It is also in conflict with the fitrah (way or religion):

"[Adhere to] the fitrah of Allāh upon which He has created [all] people."

[al-Rum (30): 30]

And the Prophet (ﷺ ) said:
"Five [actions] are from the fitrah: circumcision, cutting the pubic hair (and in another narration:
"shaving the pubic area" trimming the moustache, trimming the fingernails and plucking the underarm hair."^101

And Anas (radiy Allahu 'anhu) said: "We were given a time limit (and in another version: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ ) imposed a time limit on us') with regard to trimming the moustache, shaving the pubic hair, plucking the armpit hair and clipping the nails and we were not to leave it for more than forty days."^102

Fatwa no. 21207

Q: About thirty years ago, my mother fell into a deep sleep while breastfeeding my one-month old sister who suffocated and died. What should my mother do? May Allah grant you success!

A: If the reality is as you have mentioned, your mother has to offer the Kaffarah (expiation) of involuntary manslaughter as she caused the baby's death. The Kaffarah is to free a believing slave. If she can not afford this, she has to fast for two consecutive months (sixty days).

Q 1: What is meant by Riddah (apostasy)?

A: Riddah is defined as an act of giving up the Din (religion) of Islam and converting to Kufr (disbelief), it takes place by words, actions, doubts, or abandonment.

Riddah may take the form of spoken words, such as by speaking blasphemy or insulting the Messenger (ﷺ).

It may take the form of actions, such as by prostrating to the Cross or an idol, slaughtering for the sake of the occupants of graves, or mistreating the Mus-haf (Arabic Qur'an).

It may take place by having doubts. A Murtad (apostate) may have doubts about the truthfulness of Islam or the Prophet (ﷺ).

It may take the form of abandonment, such as by forsaking Islam. A Murtad neither learns Islam nor acts according to its teachings.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,

"Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little."
