Prophet Dawud said: My Lord Almighty enjoined upon me nine traits.

• He enjoined me to honor him in privacy and in public.

• To be just in a time of anger or pleasure.

• To be moderate in a time of wealth or poverty.

• To reconcile with those who cut me off.

• To give to those who deprive me.

• To forgive those who wrong me.

• To let my observation be a lesson.

• To let my silence be reflection.

• To let my words be remembrance of Allaah.

The poet, Abī Ishāq Ibrāhīm bin Mas’ūd At Tujībī Al Gharnātī al Ilbīrī ‎رحمـه الله said :

The days have weakened your heart, and the hours have traces on your body,

And death calls you with a true call, so oh my companion, perhaps your time is near,

I seen you desire the virgin wife [the dunya], who the intelligent ones have divorced and will never
take her back,

You are sleeping as time goes, woe to you in your snoring, Until you die, then you will awaken,

How long will you be deceived and tricked?, and when will you cease from it?

Shaykh Sālih Al-Fawzān [حفظه الله] said:

❝The individuals who ascribe themselves to [giving] Da’wah, it is mandatory that they be investigated:

• Where did they study?
• Where did they take knowledge from?
• Where were they reared?
• What are their beliefs?
• Their actions must be investigated, their effects upon the people, along with what good they have brought about.
• What rectification has their actions produced?

Their affairs must be investigated before [the people] are misled by their statements and what is apparent from them. This investigation is mandatory, especially during the present time in which the callers of Fitnah are many.❞

Imam Ibn al Qayyim رحمه الله said,

The people of Islaam amongst the people are strangers

And the believers amongst the people of Islaam are strangers

The people of knowledge amongst the believers are strangers

And Ahlus Sunnah who distinguish between desires and innovations are strangers

And the callers to it, and those who are patient upon the harms of the opposers are the most strangest of them

‎:الشيخ سعيد رسلان حفظه الله

‎“Make the most of your time,
‎and safeguard your lifespan.

‎Every second of it, not merely every minute,
‎hour, day, week, or beyond that.

‎Be diligent with every second of your life, for each passing second, is a second closer to your grave.”
