ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۩‏ ٢٦

˹He is˺ Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim

"So as you treat others you shall be treated, so do as you want, for indeed Allah will deal with you in the same manner as you treat His servants."

[Saheeh Al-Waabil as-Sayyib. Daar Ibn al-Jawzee, 2nd edition, p.63]
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍۢ وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ١٤

And We have commanded people to ˹honour˺ their parents. Their mothers bore them through hardship upon hardship, and their weaning takes two years. So be grateful to Me and your parents. To Me is the final return.

Sufyān Ath-Thawrī said:

There is no place better for the woman than her home! Even if she is an old woman!

Maymūn ibn Mihrān said:

Verily your actions are little, so be sincere in that little!

A man said to Abdullah ibn Dīnār:

“Admonish me!”

He said: “Fear Allāh when you are alone!

Imam Ash-Shāfi’ī said:

Whomsoever does not love knowledge, then he has no goodness with him!

Mujāhid رحمه الله said:

If you yawn while reading the Qur’an, refrain from reading, in honor [of the Qur’an], until your yawning is gone!

[Al-Jāmi’ Li Ahkām Al-Qur’ān: 1/49]

When death was near Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamān, he said: “This is the last hour of this world! O Allāh, I love You; so bless me in my meeting with You.

Then he died.

* It was narrated from 'Ubadah that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"‏ مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ كَرِهَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ ‏"

"Whoever loves to meet Allāh, Allāh loves to meet him, and whoever hates to meet Allāh, Allāh hates to meet him."

Nu’mān Al-Bashīr said:

Truly, complete ruin is to do evil deeds in a time of calamity!

Ibn al-Dunya mentioned that the Prophet Dawud (alayhi salam) asked
Allāh:

"What is the least of your blessings?.”

Allāh revealed to him,


"O Dawud, take a breath."


Dawud did so, and Allāh
told him:

"That is the least of My Blessings on
you.”

الشيخ ربيع بن هادي المدخلي:

قبول النصيحة واتباع الحق من أعظم الواجبات على جميع المسلمين، من أي مصدر كان.

ولا يجوز للمسلم أن يستصغر الناصح الصادق ويزدره مهما كان الأمر
قد تكون حالته.

Shaykh Rabee ibn Hadi Al-Madkhali :


‘Accepting sincere advice and following the truth is one of the greatest obligations upon all of the Muslims, from whichever source it comes from.’

'It is not permissible for a Müslim to belittle and disrespect the sincere adviser regardless what
his status may be.’

Abu Talib al-Makki reported: Sufyan al-Thawri, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “I was deprived of the night prayer for five months because of a sin I committed.” It was said, “What was it?” Sufyan said, “I saw a man weeping and I said to myself: This one is showing off.”

عن أبي طالب المكي قَالَ سفيان الثوري رحمه الله حُرمت قيام الليل خمسة أشهر بذنب أذنبته قيل له ما هو قال رأيت رجلاً بكى فقلت في نفسي هذا مراء
