‎﴾فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلاَ تَبْغُواْ عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلاً﴿

Translation: Then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them.

This means: When the wife obeys her husband in all that Allaah has allowed, then no means of annoyance from the husband are allowed against his wife.

‎● {تفسير ابن كثير ٤:٣٤}
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

‎“If a rank is decided by Allāh for a servant which he could not attain by his deeds, Allāh afflicts him with distress in his body or children or wealth, and makes him bear it in patience until he achieves that rank which was written for him.”

[Excellence of Patience & Gratefulness]
‎Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

The father of Abee Aasim said: I heard my son narrate from Abu Abdullah al-Kasa`i; I heard ibn Abee Aasim say: When the affair of al-Alawee occurred in Basrah all of my books were lost, so I re-wrote fifty thousand ahadith from memory. I used to go to the greengrocers’ shop and write using the light of his lamp. Then I realised that I had not asked the permission of the owner of the lamp to sit in its light so I went to the sea and washed away all I had written and wrote it again.

‎● {سير أعلام النبلاء ١٣/٤٣٠-٤٣٩}
Small Continous Deeds, Big Rewards.

‎قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : اكلفوا من العمل ما تطيقون فإن خير العمل أدومه وإن قل.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Burden (yourselves) with deeds of which you are capable, for the best of deed is that which is continous even if little.”

‎● [سنن ابن ماجه رقم الحديث ٤٣٨١]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

‎“After a while, those who are used to committing evil and sins will get bored with them.

‎Then, they will commit these errors to drive away the depression and loneliness that they feel.”

‎[Medicine of the Prophet | Pg. 218]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“If Allāh wills to do good to his slave He removes admiration of his good deeds from his heart, and removes the speaking about it from his tongue, and makes only busy of watching his sins and reduce them.”

[Tareequl-Hijratain | Pg. 310]

● {الإبانة عن شريعة الفرقة الناجية لابن بطة ١/٢٤٦}
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

It is said,

'Patience is that intellect and religion stand firm when faced with lusts and desires.'

The meaning of this is that human nature runs after that which it loves, but intellect and religion prevent it. As such the two are at continuous war with each other, and this war has its ups and downs. The battlefield is the heart, patience, courage and firmness.

['Idatu'l-Sābirīn wa Dhakīratu'l-Shākirīn]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
