Ibn al Qayyim

“The believer who is sincere to Allāh is the happiest, most content, blessed and peaceful of all people. And this is the early paradise before the upcoming paradise.”

The Prophet said: (In a dream, I saw someone) whose head was being crushed with a stone (and he) was the one who learnt the Qur’an but never acted on it, and slept ignoring the compulsory prayers.

Shaykh ibn 'Uthaymin رحمه الله said:

"If you see yourself deteriorate, pick yourself up by repenting and seeking Allah’s forgiveness and by asking Him to keep you firm.

And don't become careless, and neither say: “in sha Allah, my imaan will become stronger” (without doing anything about it).

Instead from right now from the moment you feel that you are ill—you must implement the cure."

Tafsir Surah an-Nisa
Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

Istighfar is the greatest of good deeds.

So whoever feels there is a deficiency in his speech, or actions, or Rizq (provision), or the turnings of his heart, then he must adhere to Tawhid and Istighfar.

Kill Yusuf or cast him out to some other land, so that the favor of your father may be given to you alone, and after that you can become a righteous people. [12:9]

In his commentary on this
ayah, Imam al-Baghawi wrote:

Muhammad ibn Ishaaq said, “What they did involved many sins including the cutting of blood ties, poor treatment of parents, lack of compassion towards a child who had done nothing wrong, making false promises to achieve their own aims, breaking their promises, and lying to their parents. But Allah pardoned them for all of that so that no one could lose hope of Allah’s mercy.”

[
Tafsir al-Baghawi 4/219]
On the authority of al-Hasan in a narration: ❝May Allaah have mercy upon the slave who speaks and benefits or remains silent and is saved.❞

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

If you are studying the deen and not realising your own ignorance then your ilm is not benefittng you. If it is only increasing you in arrogance then your intention is not sincere. Re-evaluate and start again.

I have discovered from my own experience that whenever someone increases in knowledge, they discover how much greater their ignorance is.”

Whoever wants the aid Of Allāh:

“Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah would search a lot to find people to help them with their needs. This was because he knew that everytime he helped someone then Allāh would aid him.”
