Dear brothers and sisters,

Please make Duaa for our brothers and sisters in Gaza, especially in the Qiyam prayer (the night prayer) during the last third of the night,

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: "Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"

O Allah, help and protect the people of Gaza. O Allah, ease their pain and suffering.
O Allah, have mercy on their deceased, heal their sick, and grant them patience and peace 🤲🏻

I was reading from the book Suwar min Hayaat as-Sahabah and I came across the following when reading regarding Sa’eed ibn ‘Aamir. It was mentioned that Sa’eed witnessed the execution of Khubayb ibn ‘Adi. They brought him out in front of the masses of Quraysh, from the women to the children. They wanted to take revenge from the Prophet (ﷺ) for the kills of Badr by killing the captives.

And what astonished me was that when Khubayb was being punished, portions of his body being cut one after the other, they would ask him the following:

Would you love it to be that Muhammad was in your place and you were saved?

And he would reply, with tears emptying out him, with the following:

By Allah, I would not love to be safe and secure amongst my family whilst even a thorn stings Muhammad.

SubhanAllah!

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said: "Grief weakens the heart."

قال الإمام الشّافعي رحمه الله :
Imam Al-Shafi’i رحمه الله said:

ثلاثة أشياء دواء من لا دواء له :
“Three things are a cure for whom there is no cure:

العنب ولبن اللقاح وقصب السكر،
Grapes, fermented milk, and sugar cane.

ولولا قصب السكر ما أقمت ببلدكم .
Were it not for sugar cane, I would not have stayed in your country.”

- سيّر أعلام النُّبلاء ( ٥٦/١٠) -

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله said,

“By Allaah, there’s nobody who honestly and sincerely turns to Allaah and does the deeds of the people of Jannah, except that Allaah wouldn’t let him down, never.”

[Sharh al Arba’een pg. 104]

Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah said: "When people help one another in sin and transgression, they finish by hating each other."

‎● {الفتاوى ١٥/١٢٨}

Ibn al Qayyim رحمه الله said,

“This is from the miracles of the Quran because there are many paths that lead to darkness, but only one leads to light."

[بداية الفوائد ١/١٢٧]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

‎“Man almost forgets the knowledge he has gained because of the sins he has committed.”

Ibn Taymiyyah said: "Sometimes, I have a certain need that only Allāh can fulfil, so I call upon him. Then, I find that the door of dialogue with Allāh opens up for me, and through it I taste the sweetness of discourse with Him and the joy of knowing Him that far surpasses the urgency of obtaining and answer to my prayer, and so I prefer for the answer to my prayer be delayed for fear of losing this connection once my need is fulfilled."

Two Wolves!

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Two wolves roaming freely among sheep are less destructive to them than the desire for wealth and fame is to a person’s religion.”

● [سنن الترمذي كتاب الزهد ٢٣٧٦ ، هذا حديث حسن صحيح]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله wrote:

The key to enlivening one's heart is:

• Contemplating the Qur'ān

• Humbling oneself before Allāh in the last part of the night

• Leaving off sins

[Hadiya al-Arwah | Pg. 48]

Sheikh Fawzan said: "Current most serious threat to our Ummah is that ignorant Jaahils are being active in the Dawah field. They don't have ilm, yet they with their own misguidance and ignorance give Dawah."

ما مِن عَبْدٍ يَمُوتُ له عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ،
“No servant who dies and finds good from Allah (in the Hereafter)

يَسُرُّهُ أنْ يَرْجِعَ إلى الدُّنْيا وأنَّ له الدُّنْيا وما فيها،
would wish to come back to this world even if he were given the whole world and whatever is in it,

إلَّا الشَّهِيدَ؛
except the martyr

لِما يَرَى مِن فَضْلِ الشَّهادَةِ؛
who, on seeing the superiority of martyrdom,

فإنَّه يَسُرُّهُ أنْ يَرْجِعَ إلى الدُّنْيا، فيُقْتَلَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى.
would like to come back to the world and get killed again (in Allah's Cause).”

[صحيح البخاري]

Imam al-Jawzi رحمه الله said:

‎”O you who run after the material life deluded by his hopes so long.

Death will come to you suddenly and the grave is the chest of deeds”.

‎Sincere Council To The Seekers of Sacred Knowledge p.86

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Blessed are those who had faith in me and saw me, and blessed seven times are those who had faith in me and never saw me.”

Sheikh Uthaymin (‏رحمه الله) mentioned the following:

[من طهر قلبه من المعاصي كان أفهم للقرآن ومن تنجس قلبه بالمعاصي كان أبعد فهما عن القرآن.]

"Whoever purifies his heart from sins will have more understanding of the Quran, but whoever sullies his heart with sins will be further from understanding the Quran."

[Al-Qawl al-Mufeed 'alā Kitab al-Tawheed 2/37]

Hadith on Hypocrisy: He sees other’s faults but forgets his own 🖋️

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “One of you sees the speck in his brother’s eye while he forgets the log in his own eye.”

📚: Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān 5761

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“It is well known, by experience and observation, that love of this world inspires all sorts of sins, hidden and open; especially such sins which are committed due to dependence upon it."
