Bangladesh has two of its own “chicken necks”. Both are far more vulnerable

1. First is the 80 Km North Bangladesh Corridor- from Dakhin Dinajpur to South West Garo Hills. Any disruption here, can completely isolate the entire Rangpur division from rest of Bangladesh.

2. Second is the 28 km Chittagong Corridor, from South Tripura till the Bay of Bengal. This corridor, smaller than India’s chicken neck, is the only link between Bangladesh’s economic capital and political capital.

In Solapur, Muslims were operating an illegal paan shop near Punjab Talim, but locals lodged a complaint against it because many miscreants frequented the shop and misbehaved with residents.

Following this, hundreds of Islamists gathered, entered Hindu homes in a nearby society, and assaulted Hindu women with sticks and swords, molested them, vandalized vehicles, and pelted stones.

Locals claimed the attackers threatened Hindu women, saying they would burn them alive and kill them, and alleged that the police supported the assailants without taking strict action.
