So, by far Czechia has accepted about 400K refugees from Ukraine. While for many years local policy towards refugees has been scaremongering about le scary muslims coming to install Bohemian Chalifate, take the all the government money and commit crimes.
Ukrainian refugees are receiving a ton of help and support from the government and the society at large. Almost free access to the labor market, housing support, 1/6 of local median wage as a direct payment and the access to the educational institutions.
What’s the difference? The answer seems pretty clear.
The nuance is that the status of Ukrainian refugees is not the usual legal status of refugee as set by the Czech law. All of them have received just a stamp in their passports called “Vízum strpění” – tolerance visa for 1 year. All of their benefits are tied to it. This shows us 2 things:
1) The government does not want to give them refugee status as it is set by the UN agreements and would legally bind Czechia in helping those people.
2) As the government was very hesitant to provide the official refugee status to anyone, they’ve made the process so hard that when the wave of people in need came to their borders, they needed an ad-hoc solution and fast.
The other trick that I’ve learnt is that their access to the labor market is limited to 2 options: full employment with 40-hour week and healthcare and the most “flexible” contract with no benefits and protections at all. Of course, a refugee who does not know Czech and without any qualification accepted in the EU is very unlikely to get the full contract. So, in the end, Czechia has received a several hundred thousand cheap laborers which is very convenient for a country trying to start the economy rolling after COVID.

For the records: ANPI's position is very questionable, but they are not pro-Putin. Also, most of them are not even partisans, they were mostly born even after 1945, so it doesn't make sense this headline.
And banning NATO flags on the 25 of April is based.
Those who support NATO and oppose Russia, or support Russia and oppose NATO, or both, ate not our allies, they are hypocrites who approve war crimes when it is their side committing them (Iraq, Afghanistan.../Chechnya, Ukraine...).
Bringing a NATO flag is absolutely an insult to the Resistance and to what the Liberation is, many of them fought for a radical change in institution and a world free of most of the shit we see nowadays (only to get another shit imperialist country afterwards, totally submissive to the US, and then the Years of Lead and the story we all know...).
Bring a partisan flag, an italian flag (even though our State sucks) and if you want to show solidarity with Ukraine, an ukrainian flag; but if you bring a NATO or an US flag they have all the rights to tell you to fuck off.
