Hello community! We have some exciting updates to share with you.
1. A cache-server has been developed. The currently used database is very slow due to the amount of data stored. A typical fetch of indexed database records in the current database took an unsatisfactory >100ms, so we decided to develop our own cache server to handle the large amount of data, including all the operations we need and excluding the useless and unused ones. Testing of the newly developed cache server showed that the performance of fetching was accelerated by at least 100 times. The most sophisticated operation of searching through all stored records in the cache server takes less than 1ms.
2. The following two problems we tried to solve with one solution:
a) The first problem is the formation of game pools, which infringe on players' rights. We are not against game pools, but we are against cheating, so we are interested in making sure that the players are aware of the project and the rewards for their participation. In the updated system we have introduced such a concept as Trust Factor. The more confident we are in the ownership of the account, the higher the reward, relative to players with a low Trust Factor in the round. You can get back the Trust Factor by re-linking your game account. This action is optional, but it will return the reward factor. The trust factor will decrease over time. Rewards will be distributed relative to the trust factors of other users in the round. At this point, the trust factor of all users is zeroed out. If you think your trust factor is low, you need to update it by linking your game account. You need to periodically confirm ownership of your game account, that way your trust factor will remain at a good level and rewards will not decrease.
b) The second problem is the amount of match data downloaded from game servers. At the moment, according to the game servers, it is too large, so they limit the data transfer rate. Because of this, the creation of a round can be delayed, so be patient. This problem is partially solved by introducing a trust factor. Inactive accounts or matches of users with a low trust factor will not be taken into account. This reduces the load on the data center.
3. Global optimization of algorithms and code refactoring was performed, which will allow faster and more flexible tuning of existing algorithms, modifying them and integrating new functions. Also, many routine tasks were automated, bugs were fixed, a lot of old code and the hierarchy of internal data structures were removed.
