First time watching on episode 3, does Joffrey ever stop being an annoying little bastard?
You can spoil it for me, does this dude have any redeeming qualities or is his blonde ass gonna annoy me the whole time?
Edit: Thank you all for your input. Excited to watch this. I may have lied this is my second time watching but the first time I got to probably episode 4 and stopped because for some reason I couldn’t get into it. I’m definitely interested in the show now and excited to see what is to come. I’ve seen general spoilers just due to the sheer popularity of the show but I do not know when and how they happen. Did Bran Stark manipulate everyone into making him king?
So I’ve been thinking... did Bran actually manipulate the entire endgame to become king?
Throughout the series, he constantly says he doesn't want anything — no titles, no power — but then at the council meeting, he drops the line: “Why do you think I came all this way?” Like, what?? That makes it sound like this was his plan all along.
Also, Bran was the one who told Jon about his Targaryen lineage — something he had to know would never lead to Jon actually taking the throne. Instead, it triggers a whole domino effect: Daenerys starts spiraling, feeling threatened, and her paranoia kicks into high gear. Jon tells Sansa, who tells Tyrion, and everything escalates from there. I know she was always foreshadowed to go mad but definitely seems it was a big trigger.
Bran’s omniscience as the Three-Eyed Raven means he likely saw all this coming. And what does it lead to? Daenerys dies, Jon is exiled, and Bran ends up as king — despite claiming he didn’t want anything.
Meanwhile, Jon gets screwed over. The poor guy learns he's the rightful heir, does what he thinks is right, kills Dany to stop further destruction… and ends up right back at the Wall, with no real purpose or reward. Indirectly due to Bran. I know he says he never wanted to be king but his actions said other wise.
Did Bran lowkey play the longest game of thrones? I know it was always foreshadowed but he kinda manipulated his way there.
