Talisa's opinion about Robb Stark AT FIRST.

(Sorry for my english, it's not my first language.)

One thing that stuck out to me about Robb and Talisa's love story was that when they met, she didn't hesitate to tell him her opinion on the war, and they disagreed, even after she left him at the scene, she acts kind of cold towards him.

I don't think she had a positive opinion of Robb, so why is it that she later acts more politely towards him, for example, when she comes back to ask him about supplies to treat the wounded?

(I don't remember all the scenes and lines exactly but something like that)

I take the words out of the Game of Thrones Fandom page:

"After the operation Talisa criticizes Robb for fighting to usurp the crown without having a replacement king, Robb states he is yet to win.

Talisa also points out that the wounded soldier was a fisherman's son who had been conscripted into the Lannister army and that the forces Robb's army defeated weren't trained soldiers for the most part. As she leaves, Robb tells Talisa that the soldier was lucky she was there to save him, and she responds by saying it was unlucky for the soldier that Robb was."

So is it that at first she didn't like him, or was she just saddened and angry about all this war and deaths?

Just watched the Red Wedding for the first time

I think I'm going to throw up. I think I'm genuinely going to be sick. I knew it was going to happen but goddamn I did not think it would happen like that and now I'm going to take a break from the show. I am rattled.

I think the worst part was how fast the first wave of violence came but how slow their actual death was. And the silence. Oh the silence afterwards freaked me out. And Frey's wife's death. I mean she had nothing to do with any of this. She was what? 14? 15? We can argue that everyone else in that hall did something not-so-great (except Talisa, I mean I don't really understand if she knew about the arrangement. I've forgotten by now), but Frey's wife really did absolutely nothing wrong.

EDIT: On a happier note, just watched Jon Snow get shot. Bastard deserved it and I stand by Ygritte

EDIT 2: Sorry, I'm just commentating on the episode I'm watching right now but holy shit I love Davos and I hate Stannis. Davos is too good for that man and he should just leave and find someone better. Or, better yet, we put him on the Iron Throne and forget all the other houses exist.

The worst thing Robb did was not Talisa. It was with the Karstarks.

You dont punish war crimes for your frustrated and angry allies mid war. Especially where your side is the underdog. Give them a talking to and then sanction their house after the war.

This wasnt the time to be standing on principle. It was war.

In the game of thrones, you play for keeps, you win or you die.

What an idiot.

In episode 4 Ned Stark fortifies the city guard with 20 of his own men and it got me thinking.

Ned was uniquely positioned at the beginning of the story to flood kings landing with stark me n had he wanted to. Just wondering how things could have happened differently if Ned had brought a lot more men with him south.

Which character from the House of Tagaryen is your favorite?

After not thinking about it for too long, I would say that Bryden Rivers is my favorite.
The fear people had of him was immense. Just like the stories they told about his abilities to use blood magic.
Or the mystery of how many eyes Bloodraven has: 1,000 and one. Because he had his eyes and ears everywhere.
His design is super cool, he is an albino with white skin, only one eye and a birthmark in the shape of a red smeared raven.
He was also extremely clever and always had a pretty good position in the kingdom.
He was extremely talented with the longbow or the longsword and was also the bearer of "Dark Sister"
He and his fighting squad of archers, delivered the decisive blow in the first Blackfire Rebellion
He had no wife but the most beautiful partner in all of Westeros
Then within 8 years or so he became the Lord Commandant of the Night's Watch and what is probably another really cool thing about him is the fact that he is the three-eyed raven.

All in all, he has done and achieved so much that he made it to my number one spot

( Characters from House Blackfyre are included )

Imagine if Viserys, through some incredible miracle, had actually managed to take the throne and become the King. Would be have been a better king than Joffrey, the same kind of king, or an even worse king?

Hot Take: House Targaryen’s downfall wasn’t just madness — it was their obsession with destiny, and that’s what truly doomed them.

I know “Targaryen madness” gets thrown around constantly — half the fandom just chalks up the downfall of the family to inbreeding and call it a day. But honestly? That feels like a lazy explanation. I don’t think madness was their core issue. I think it was faith. Not religious faith, but a dangerous, blinding belief in their own myth — that they were chosen, destined, or otherwise entitled to rule Westeros because of prophecy and dragon dreams.

This starts way before Daenerys or even Aerys. You can trace it all the way back to Aegon the Conqueror, who didn’t just invade Westeros for power — he did it because of a prophetic dream about the end of the world. That’s already a big red flag: their very foundation as rulers was rooted in a belief that they were saving the world, not just building a kingdom. That mindset bleeds into everything that follows.

Fast forward to Rhaegar. He’s supposed to be this smart, honorable, bookish guy — but he straight up abandons his wife and kids to run off with Lyanna Stark because of some cryptic prophecy. That one decision triggered a civil war, got thousands killed, and destabilized the entire realm. And what was it all for? A “Prince That Was Promised” theory he probably half-understood at best. He let prophecy dictate his life. That’s not madness — that’s delusion wrapped in a sense of divine purpose.

Even Daenerys — and I love Dany as a character — follows this same pattern. She starts off grounded, trying to free slaves and build something better. But as time goes on, she stops listening to people, stops questioning herself. She leans harder and harder into “I was born to rule” and “they don’t love me, so they will fear me.” Her belief in her own destiny — fueled by her bloodline and all the whispers about dragons and dreams — overrides everything else. It’s not just a heel turn. It’s the logical endpoint of someone who believes the world owes her a throne because the stars said so.

And honestly? That’s what makes them tragic. Not just because they go mad — a few did, sure — but because they couldn’t let go of the idea that they were special. They never ruled like people who earned power; they ruled like people who inherited a prophecy. And that made them dangerous.

I used to think the Targaryens were just tragic, misunderstood dragonlords — and they are, in a way. But, it’s not that they were mad, it’s that they thought they were gods, and they stopped seeing the rest of the world as real.

Thoughts?

Was he trolling Jon when he told him he got 100.000 wildlings at his command? How else is it possible for Stannis to make Mance submit with only 4000 men?

Catelyn fumbled her own recovery

During the Red Wedding she finds a knife and has a clear shot to Walder and his wife. Getting Walder is the best shot at salvaging this and getting out with Robb. Walder even showed on multiple occasions that he doesn’t care about women. So naturally, Catelyn grabs his wife and uses that as leverage.

I'm almost done with season 3 of GoT and these are my feelings about certain characters.

Hope post like these are ok in this sub.

This is my first time ever watching GoT and I did my best to stay away from all spoilers during the release of the show.

Characters I like:
Tyrion Lannister: by far my favorite character since the show started.

Ned Stark: he died way too son but left a lasting impression

Characters that are quickly growing on me:
Jaime Lannister: no idea what will happen next with him but he's growing on me and I'm genuinely starting to like him.

Brienne of Tarth: I was indifferent when she first appeared but her relationship with Jaime has won me over making me like them both.

Arya Stark: I didn't like her at all when the show first started. I'm not big on kid actors especially ones who don't listen but she's really growing on me now.

Characters I can't stand!:

Rob Stark: sure it would be cool if he avengers his father but any time his arc comes on I get bored. The line "you lost the war when you married her" hit so hard for me because that's when he started boring me

Catelyn Stark: lost all respect for her when she released Jaime and can't stand her

Characters I've never liked:

Sansa Stark: geez this girl has been annoying as hell. I can't put my finger on it but even just her soft spokeness is annoying to me.

Cersei Lannister: she's less annoying than the first season but I can't stand her still.

Jon Snow: he's a cry baby and just annoying but I do like his woma.

Characters I don't actually like but enjoying seeing on screen:

Lord Baelish & Lord Varys: love seeing their verbal duals.

Bron: he's just cool

I'm sure I forgot some other characters since there's so damn many of them but these are the ones that come to mind now.

I have feelings about:

Theon, Daenerys, Brann and Ramsay but I'll wait to see how I really feel about them.
