Ned was a BEAST.
Can we all agree that Ned Stark was an absolute badass on the show? Barristan himself credits the man for having "cut down a dozen great knights." But that's not all, let's look at what he does onscreen:
1.) Matched Jaime in a fight and proved to be his equal.
2.) Survived the longest against Ser Arthur Dayne.
3.) One-shotted Gerold Hightower.
4.) Is credited with having fought with ICE in hand.

Ned Stark held his own against Jamie Lannister.
I have been re reading the books , and been watching an episode rarely.
I honestly believe Ned Stark shows how decent he is as a honest man and a swordsman.
Ned was conflicted with emotions during the short melee.
He had just seen most of his household guard get slaughtered and put up a fight in which Jamie looked very uncomfortable in.
Jamie is known as one of the best swordsman at the time. Baristan selmey also said in the episode ned is too hard on himself and he seem him beat many a knight.
Jamie probably would of won in the long haul.
But I just wanted to point out the fact , ned did do himself proud in that skirmish...
Also shout out to jory. I wish I had a best friend like jory castle.

"You will bury them yourselves."
Early in season 01, when the Starks find the litter of direwolves, Eddard tells them: "You will train them yourselves, you will feed them yourselves, and when they die, you will bury them yourselves." Eight seasons later however, that turned out not to be true. While the Stark kids probably did train and feed them, none of them did bury their own direwolves. Let's do a roll call:
Lady : Killed by Eddard, buried in Winterfell by Stark men while Sansa was still headed for King's Landings.
Grey Wind : Killed by the Freys outside the Red Wedding and had its head sown to Robb's body.
Summer : Killed by the undead while protecting Bran. Presumably turned into a dire wight and remains unburied.
Shaggydog : Killed by the Umbers and had its head cut off before Ramsay while Rickon was still a prisoner.
Nymeria : Still alive, did not follow Arya to Westestereros and thus will not be buried by her.
Ghost : Still alive, only remaining candidate to be buried by its original owner.

Why were seasons 7-8 so rushed?
Apologies for the stupid question, but I am just now watching the show for the first time with my GF and we are both puzzled as to why they had to rush so much at the end? I remember at the time the entire world was watching and they had all the budget they could wish for. So why? Aging actors? Different contracts? Books not being finished(if this, they could have just continued for longer even without them and gave the characters a more complete arc)?

Dragon eggs..
Newer fan here, finished one watch through and I’m watching it again. One thing I was thinking of after watching the dragons hatch… the shaman lady mentioned that only death can bring life, are there fan theories that drogo, her son, and her brother could’ve been the lives given to bring the dragons to life? Sorry if this is worded weird I’m not sure exactly how to get my thoughts down currently hahaha
