Imo his biggest blunder was becoming a religious extremist and burning not just The Seven but also weirwoods of The Old Gods. Otherwise he could have allied with Robb's armies from The North and The Riverlands. Burning their Gods alienated potential vassals from supporting him.

Robert's first kill.

In the show , there is this scene King Robert, Ser Barristan Selmy and Ser Jaime Lannister discuss their first kills.


Robert's first kill sounds awfully similar to him killing Rhaegar Targaryen,

His horse was wounded in both tales, there was mud all around making it hard to walk, and he killed both of them by caving in their chestplate with 1 swing of his warhammer.


Do you think this to be an easter egg or an undertone to how Robert doesn't even remember his kills? Perhaps from the 17-year long alcohol abuse or smt?
