Terre Creuse : Photo du Pôle Nord Prise par le Satellite ESSA 7 du 23.11.1968

Au début des années 1970, ESSA, un projet appartenant au Département du Commerce des États-Unis, a donné accès aux médias à des images du pôle Nord prises par le satellite ESSA-7 le 23 novembre 1968. L’une des photographies montrait le pôle Nord couvert par les nuages habituels ; L’autre montrait la même zone sans nuages, révélant un énorme trou où le pôle était censé se trouver. L’équipe de l’ESSA était loin de se douter que ces images susciteraient l’intérêt des chercheurs du monde entier qui soupçonnaient déjà des anomalies au pôle Nord, anomalies qui alimenteraient la recherche d’objets volants non identifiés qui, selon beaucoup, étaient profondément liés au pôle Nord et à la théorie de la Terre creuse..

🇮🇹 Ecco come appariva una lanterna nel XIX secolo

La lanterna era destinata all'illuminazione stradale esterna. Di solito veniva installato nella parte anteriore delle carrozze e delle diligenze, su entrambi i lati del cocchiere.
Le lanterne venivano utilizzate anche per indicare le dimensioni della carrozza, un dettaglio importante sulle strade strette e buie dell'epoca.

The lantern was intended for outdoor street lighting. It was usually installed at the front of carriages and stagecoaches, on either side of the coachman.
Lanterns were also used to indicate the size of the carriage, an important detail on the narrow, dark streets of the time.
Inside the lantern was a candle. Covered in glass with metal reflectors, it was protected from the movement of the wind. At the top of the lantern was an air duct: special holes to create an air current.
