Largest central banks returned the demand for yield to markets

The big central banksโ€™ troika is once again intensifying monetary easing, pushing the markets towards growth, despite deteriorating macroeconomic statistics. The single currency was under increased pressure for a short time yesterday, declining to 1.0926 at one point, before recovering and trading near 1.1100 on Friday morning.

Such sharp fluctuations of EURUSD are explained by the unexpected launch of QE from the ECB to the amount of 20 billion euro per month without the final date.

Initially, it was perceived as a more determined mood for policy easing, pulling down the single currency. However, the open date will allow the ECB to end purchases in a short period. Besides, the size of the program can be considered relatively small compared to 60 billion per month, which was before 2018.

Crypto market remains in a sideways trend: Bitcoin traded around $10K on Friday morning, altcoins are still near the lows, BTC dominance index grew above 70%.

The altcoins historical lows make us think about the prospects of survival of the alternative cryptocurrencies separately.

Brent opened the week with a price spike of more than 20% on reports of an attack on a significant oilfield in Saudi Arabia.

It is unlikely that such growth will be sustainable as U.S. and Saudi Arabia itself have enough reserves.
It may seem strange, but Saudi Arabia may benefit from this incident.

Dollar rose on the higher Oil, but the downward trend remains

The dollar added 0.5% to the basket of major currencies on Monday, but September's downward trend with 1.7% potential to decline may remain, if the Fed does not surprise the markets with excessive rigidity tomorrow.

Altcoinโ€™s strike back?
The dominance index of the benchmark cryptocurrency declined to 69.1%, as Ethereum suddenly revived.

On the one hand, the market participants began to feel tired from the side trend of Bitcoin. On the other hand, the altcoin market lows and โ€œfuneral speechesโ€ of many media indicate the opposite situation, where investors are forced to get rid of their assets with huge losses. As often happens in markets, the growth begins just right after that.

FOMC Preview: Another world crisis? Why interest rates cut wonโ€™t save U.S.

The events of the beginning of this week โ€” surges in oil prices and interest rates in the repo market โ€” increase the chances that the Fed will try to look dovish, trying to ease the tension in the money markets. In turn, this may be good news for stock markets and bad news for the dollar.
