What Pound and Euro Drop Amid Stock Rise Tells Us About?
The British pound fell to the 34-year lows area to 1.1960 at one point, declining for the fifth trading session in a row.

But the FTSE 100 index added 3.1% during the same period.

Similarly, the euro and the European stock market show different signals.

This may well be a signal that stock markets are positively assessing the weakening of the euro and pound as a measure to boost economic growth, despite the signals we have been receiving in recent days.

Bitcoin: local rebound, not safe-haven demand

Market participants would like to classify BTC as a protective asset but fluctuations of tens of per cent per day do not correlate well with the definition of a safe haven.

If you look away from the media reports and focus only on the charts, you will see that Bitcoin received support at the end of last week on the decline to the region of $9,300. Indeed, this is same the level where the purchases intensified in July and August. At the same time, it is worth paying attention to a series of declining highs in the BTCUSD rate since the end of June.

The fiasco of Trump’s trade blitzkrieg
Donald Trump will have to lead the financial markets along the narrow path between the two abysses, balancing between promises of progress in trade negotiations, domestic economic incentives and the Fed’s pressure to cut rates. If successful, markets may avoid a sell-off and the US dollar may decline.

A step to the left and progress in trade negotiations will quickly force the Fed to abandon an excessively soft approach to monetary policy.

A step to the right and the markets could easily go into an upward spiral, choosing dollar assets as a safe haven, despite the deterioration of the U.S. macroecomy.
