πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Pre-market trading trends on the US stock market

πŸ“ˆ A moderately positive trend is prevailing in pre-market trading in the US stock market.

In the Information Technology sector, NVIDIA (NVDA) is up 0.91%, while Intel (INTC) is down 0.48%.

In the Financials sector, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) is down 0.05%, while Bank of America (BAC) is down 0.29%.

In the Consumer Discretionary sector, Amazon (AMZN) is up 0.99%, while in the Consumer Staples sector, Walmart (WMT) is up 0.36%.

In the foreign exchange market, the current picture is consistent with a risk-on environment: the predominance of gains among large-cap technology and consumer companies is sustaining interest in market assets.

Still, it is not generating significant demand for the dollar as a safe-haven asset. Under such conditions, the dollar generally trades with little volatility, while short-term exchange rate fluctuations depend more on expectations regarding Fed interest rates and broader external news flow.

▢️ Natural Gas. Forecast Correction

Today is Thursday, the 1st of October and let’s talk about the gas market, where I’ve switched to an alternative scenario that I’ve been discussing for several episodes in a row. I’m referring to this particular section of the market, which I suggested might take the form of a triangle or a sideways pattern.

Bitcoin has rallied ahead of the news

The crypto market has risen by 1.4% over the past 24 hours to $2.92T, after briefly peaking at $2.94T as stop orders were triggered at the start of the Asian session. Although the dollar strengthened, the move was driven by a flight from European assets, while the likelihood of an October policy tightening by the Fed continued to decline. This is the fourth consecutive month to start on a positive note, and October is historically a positive month for cryptocurrencies. Having consolidated in recent days, cryptocurrencies may attempt a fresh breakout, surpassing September's highs. Among the most popular coins, the top performers over the past 24 hours were Aave (+11.8%), Aptos (+7.2%) and Litecoin (+4.8%). The worst performers over this period were NEAR Protocol (βˆ’5.8%), IOTA (βˆ’1.3%) and Cosmos (βˆ’1.2%), with the ratio of rising to falling coins close to 3:1.

Bitcoin is attempting to break higher. On Thursday, it failed to hold above $85K, but on Friday morning, it pushed into the $86–87K range, coming close to the highs seen at the start of last week. If successful, the bulls may return to the previous scenario of a Fibonacci impulse extension with potential up to $94K. The release of US labour market statistics could, in theory, either accelerate the rally or reverse the trend. If the report is very strong, markets may once again price in a Fed rate rise in October, reducing demand for risk assets. And Bitcoin may prove to be quite sensitive to this.

The dollar has lost momentum but not strength

The increasing likelihood of a pause in the Fed’s rate-hiking cycle is not preventing the greenback from strengthening.

The US dollar is being supported by rising demand for safe-haven assets due to the fiscal crisis in France.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Pre-market trading trends on the US stock market

πŸ“ˆ Following the release of unemployment figures, the US stock market is showing a positive trend in pre-market trading.

In the Information Technology sector, NVIDIA (NVDA) is up 2.20%, Intel (INTC) is up 2.85%, while Microsoft (MSFT) is up 1.03%.
In the Communication Services sector, Alphabet (GOOGL) is up 0.83%.

In the Consumer Discretionary sector, Amazon (AMZN) is up 1.16%, while in the Consumer Staples sector, Walmart (WMT) is up 0.65%.

In the foreign exchange market, the current risk appetite is supporting interest in US equities but reducing the acute need for the dollar as a safe-haven asset.

The short-term trend for the USD remains subdued. It will largely depend on interest rate differentials and capital flows to other developed markets, rather than on domestic demand for safe-haven assets.
▢️ Pro News Weekly: Dollar Hits New Highs

Welcome to Pro News Weekly!

πŸ’΅ The U.S. dollar surged in September at its fastest pace since June, as hawkish Fed expectations and strong US business activity pushed long-term Treasury yields to 24-year highs. Despite the sharp drop in expectations for an October rate hike, investors still see a strong US economy supporting the greenback.

πŸ“ˆ US stocks showed mixed performance in the third quarter, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite gaining 2% or more while the Dow Jones and Russell 2000 declined. Technology stocks continued to benefit from the AI boom, while tighter financial conditions weighed on smaller companies.

πŸͺ™ Gold faced pressure from the surging dollar and rising real Treasury yields, with September marking its weakest month since June. However, ETF holdings increased by 60 tonnes as investors continued to seek protection amid political, fiscal and geopolitical uncertainty.

β‚Ώ Bitcoin recorded its strongest quarterly growth since 2024, with BTCUSD rallying 43% as Treasury buybacks boosted demand for decentralised finance assets. Bitcoin has since stabilized, while elevated Treasury yields and a stronger dollar weigh on prices. ETF inflows of $2.4 billion are providing further support.

πŸ“Š Next week, traders will watch the September Fed and ECB meeting minutes, US services activity, the US trade balance and Canadian labour market data. Geopolitics, oil prices, European fiscal and political risks, and the growing possibility of Japanese currency intervention will also remain in focus.
