🚀 We’re hiring: Senior Software Engineer – Distributed Database Systems | eBay NuData
eBay’s NuData team is building the next generation of petabyte-scale, highly available distributed database platforms powering some of eBay’s most critical systems.
We’re looking for a database systems engineer who has designed and built databases—not just used them in application development.
What we’re looking for:
Deep hands-on experience with database internals: transactions, MVCC, WAL, concurrency control, query engines, indexing/search, caching and replication
Strong expertise in distributed systems, HA/failover, consistency, network partitions and Raft/Paxos
Experience building cloud/distributed databases or database control planes at scale
Exposure to relational, NoSQL, vector or graph databases
Strong programming skills in C++, Java, Python, Scala or similar
Experience with Kubernetes/Docker and large-scale production systems
4–14+ years of relevant engineering experience
You’ll own core distributed components from architecture and database internals through production deployment, while helping shape a platform designed for scalability, performance, geo-distribution and always-on availability.
