Job Track Description:
Responsibilities:
Knowledge of VMware environment design, planning and implementation on the latest version of VMware technologies running VSphere 6.x and above
Measure and analyze the current VMware/Linux systems to improve performance and reliability
Define and implement virtualization standards, procedures and best practices
Perform system administration duties for VMware and Linux servers
Develop documentation and provide VMware knowledge transfer and training to the operations support staff
Demonstrate expertise in the deployment of networking technologies in a virtualized environment
Collaborate with other teams to define and execute strategies that automate services, improve product quality and enhance customer satisfaction
Work with the help desk and level 2/3 support staff to resolve problems
Work in a demanding 24x7 support environment
Provide Production environment Support for servers running business critical applications on RedHat Enterprise Linux with RHEL 6, 7 and/or 8 version
Support Windows domains and servers including account provisioning, group policy management, File and Print servers, Radius servers, etc..
Experience handling enterprise datacenter environment and work with various teams like application team, network team, storage team, etc..
Knowledge of networking and storage infrastructure to help troubleshoot issues during incidents
Knowledge of VDI infrastructure
Experience in Cisco UCS Chassis and Blades
Experience and Skills Required:
7 years VMware administration (VCP a plus).
7 years Linux systems administration (RHCE a plus).
Strong scripting skills
Working knowledge of data centers, storage, SQL databases, TCP/IP networking, data security, firewalls and proxies.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service and organizational skills.
Experience in a mission critical environment providing system and technical support focused on ensuring high service availability.
Knowledge on ansible to automate the server configurations and deployment
Knowledge of Splunk software
Experience handling Microsoft windows servers 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019
Team player. Experience in a global support environment.
Education:
Bachelorβs degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
ITIL certification a plus
VMware Certification a plus
RedHat Enterprise Linux Certification a plus
Ability to be able to get Federal Security Clearance
