We’re looking for a passionate and detail‑oriented Assistant Manager - Buyer to join Jaypore, where craft, design, and thoughtful curation come together.
Role & responsibilities
- Support end-to-end buying activities including selection, costing, order placement, and follow-ups
- Work closely with vendors/partners for product development, sampling, pricing negotiations, and timelines
- Assist in assortment planning aligned with brand aesthetics, trends, and sales performance
- Track orders, deliveries, and inventory to ensure timely availability of merchandise
- Analyze sales performance and contribution using Excel-based reports
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, planning, sourcing, and supply chain
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, timelines, and costing benchmarks
- Support sourcing of new vendors and craft partners in line with Jaypores brand ethos
Preferred candidate profile
- 3 to 6 years of relevant buying experience in retail or lifestyle brands
- Experience in home categories, furnishings, decor is an asset. Buying exposure in other categories (apparel, accessories, lifestyle) is also acceptable
- Proven experience handling vendors and external partners
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong understanding of buying processes and commercial fundamentals
- Knowledge or exposure to crafts, artisanal products, or handcrafted techniques will be an added advantage
- Good communication, coordination, and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through capabilities
