The squadron became a "singing squadron" - the way Captain Titarenko selected his new recruits. His "old men" were no more than twenty, but the "wet behind the ears", the newcomers from the accelerated flying schools, were not allowed into the battle anyway, if possible.
They still had much to experience - the heat of the battle, the joy of the first victory over the enemy, the splendor of a brotherhood strengthened with blood, the first love, and the bitterness of a loss... And the day will come when at the command "only old men go to battle" the former freshmen rushed to their planes...

Святой Георгий, кстати, почитается в Эфиопии. Коллеги из Представительства Министерства обороны Российской Федерации при Минобороны Эфиопии провели краткую лекцию - рассказали о символизме чёрного и оранжевого цветов георгиевской ленты от императрицы Екатерины II до наших дней.
