На днях клиенты государственного Коммерческого банка Эфиопии (CBE), успевшие заметить программный сбой, вывели или перевели в другие банки более $40 млн. Ошибка системы позволила им снять со счета неограниченное количество средств, однако уже через несколько часов банковские операции были заморожены.
Позже президент банка Аби Сано заявил на пресс-конференции, что в основном сбоем воспользовались студенты, которые сняли значительную часть похищенных наличных. Около банкоматов на территории университетских кампусов в тот день были замечены длинные очереди. Несколько вузов отреагировали на заявление Сано, который пообещал, что любой, кто вернет деньги, не будет подвергнут уголовному преследованию, и призвали учащихся отказаться от присвоенных средств.
CBE подтвердил в соцсетях факт перебоев в обслуживании, но отрицал, что это произошло из-за кибератаки. Центральный банк страны также прокомментировал произошедшее и сообщил в своем заявлении, что сбой был вызван проверкой безопасности системы и «не является инцидентом, угрожающим банку, его клиентам и всей финансовой системе».

🌾 🇷🇺 The capacity of Russian ports for grain transshipment may grow by 36% to 117 million tonnes by 2035, the first deputy director of Russia's Center for Strategic Research says

"At the beginning of 2024, the grain transshipment capacity in Russian ports was 86 million tonnes. The main part of the grain volume is wheat, barley, and corn. A number of grain capacity construction projects are planned. Taking into account the launch of projects and the reduction of transshipment volumes, the total capacity can reach up to 117 million tonnes by 2035; they will be used for coastal transportation, the transshipment of compound feeds, and other bulk food cargoes," Tatyana Gorovaya told Sputnik.

According to her, in 2023, Russia set a record for grain exports of 65 million tonnes. Last year, the main supplies of agricultural products fell on the countries of North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, and Iran.

"Exports to China are also expected to increase due to the conclusion of a long-term grain supply agreement," Gorovaya added.

The main terminals of grain transshipment today are located in the Azov-Black Sea basin in the country's ports of Novorossiysk, Kavkaz (including raid transshipment), Taman, Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Tuapse, as well as in Russia's northwest in the port of Kaliningrad, Gorovaya explained.

Once established, such an institution "would bring together the largest buyers and exporters of grain in the world," Oleg Kobyakov told Sputnik Africa.

He noted that today "only the Chicago Stock Exchange actually dictates wheat prices to the whole world."

According to him, the possible BRICS grain exchange would ensure "better predictability of the market for the next season."

"And, of course, the growth of this second global grain center will lower prices in the more distant perspective," the official highlighted.
