Addis Ababa March 1/2024 (ENA)The Victory of Adwa is a symbol of anti-colonial struggle that depicts national unity and cohesion in pursuit of common just goal, Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin said.

The Battle of Adwa, which culminated in defeating the colonial troops of Italy by Ethiopians 128 years ago, spear-headed anti-colonial resistance by Africans and the entire black people across the world.

🇪🇹🇷🇺 Addis Ababa, Moscow discuss signing agreement on geothermal energy, says Ethiopian ambassador

"We know that Russian experts have a lot of experience in geothermal energy and we want to strengthen our energy production. The agreement is almost ready; there is even a project that the Russian company Rusgidro wants to work on. The negotiations are now at an advanced stage," Ambassador Cham Ugala Uriat told Sputnik.

The ambassador added that Ethiopia is the only country in East Africa investing large sums in the development of alternative energy sources.
