🇷🇺🇪🇹 Russia and Ethiopia discussed issues of cooperation in the field of prevention and control of dangerous infections
On November 23-24, 2023, as part of the implementation of the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on assistance to African countries in the field of prevention and control of infections, a delegation of Rospotrebnadzor visited the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
During the visit, negotiations were held with officials of the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia, the leadership and specialists of Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as with representatives of research institutions involved in the implementation of measures to combat infectious diseases.
The parties discussed issues of prevention and response to infectious threats, as well as prospects for cooperation in the field of sanitary and epidemiological well-being.

The Ambassador commended the impressive work done by the Academy and expressed his best wishes for the swift realization of the project and its mission. The Sides discussed future cooperation between AFLEX and Russian universities in the field of education and leadership.

🎼 On December 2, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Addis Ababa hosted a classical music concert, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergey Rachmaninoff and Fyodor Shalyapin.
Graduates of the Moscow State Conservatory named after Petr I. Tchaikovsky, laureates of international competitions Ivan Koscheev (piano) and Fyodor Sidyakov (baritone) performed the works of world classics. Before the concert, a movie about the Moscow State Conservatory was demonstrated to the guests.
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps in Ethiopia, the Russian Embassy officials, Russian compatriots and the Ethiopian public and media.

🎶 On December 4, graduates of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, vocalist Fyodor Sidyakov and pianist Ivan Koscheev, conducted workshops at the Yared School of Music in Addis Ababa.
The students were given master classes in vocal and piano performance and learnt about the Russian traditions of music education.

🇷🇺🇪🇹 The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is our long-standing and reliable partner in Africa. This year, we marked the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s official visit to Russia in July was quite useful and productive. An array of intergovernmental and trade agreements in transport and logistics, telecommunications, as well as in the sphere of peaceful atom were concluded during this visit. Once implemented, these agreements will undoubtedly help diversify Russian-Ethiopian cooperation.
Russia supported Ethiopia's application to join BRICS from the time it was submitted. We will facilitate the effective integration of our Ethiopian partners into all interaction mechanisms within the association during our chairmanship in 2024.
