The 3rd issue: Recommended Ghusls

There are 9 occasions when Ghusl is recommended

1โƒฃ. FRIDAYS
ู  This recommendation applies to those who attend the Friday prayer; male or female.
ู  The timing for this Ghusl spans from dawnbreak up until the Friday prayer.

The Prophet (๏ทบ) said: It is necessary for every adult (male) to go to Friday (prayer), and for everyone who goes for Friday (prayer) to take a bath.

โ— it's easy to conclude, based on the above evidences, that bathing on Fridays is obligatory. However, there are other evidences which have been taken into consideration, which have led most scholars (jumhoor) to come to the conclusion that it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED; these evidences are follows:

Allฤh's Messenger ๏ทบ said: โ€œWhoever performs ablution on Friday, then that is sufficient, and whoever performs Ghusl then Ghusl is more virtuous.โ€

NOTE: The scholars differed regarding the authenticity of this แธฅadฤซth because it comes from Al-แธคasan Al-Baแนฃri on the authority of Samurah ibn Jundub. What's correct (ูˆุงู„ู„ู‡ ุฃุนู„ู…) is that Al-แธคasan only heard the แธฅadฤซth regarding โ€™Aqฤซqah from Samurah, and the rest of the แธฅadฤซths which he narrated from him were taken from a book he found with Samurah's children. Therefore, this report is considered Mursal (and the mursal of แธคasan is considered weak according to most scholars of แธฅadฤซth). However, this แธฅadฤซth has many supportive narrations - which is why At-Tirmidhi and others (including Sheikh Al-Albani) authenticated it.

[ุฑูˆุงู‡ ู…ุณู„ู… 857]
Allฤh's Messenger ๏ทบ said: โ€œWhoever performed ablution well, then came to Friday prayer, listened (to the sermon) and remained silent, all his sins between that time and the next Friday would be forgiven "with three days extra", and whoever touches the pebbles has committed Laghu (useless activity).โ€

Point of evidence: This indicates that making ablution is sufficient for the Friday prayer, and that the one who does this is neither sinful nor disobedient. This proves that the command to bath comes as a emphasised recommendation. [Fat-แธฅul Bari of Ibn Rajb (5/342)]

NOTE: The addition (ูˆุฒูŠุงุฏุฉูŽ ุซู„ุงุซุฉู ุฃูŠู‘ูŽุงู…ู) is Mudraj (commentary from Abลซ Hurairah radhiyallahu anhu and not from the speech of the Prophet ๏ทบ) as is clear from the wording of Abลซ Dawลซd (343).

Narrated โ€™ฤ€'ishah: The people used to come from their abodes and from Al- Awali (i.e. outskirts of Medina up to a distance of four miles or more from Madฤซnah). They used to pass through dust and used to be drenched with sweat and covered with dust; so sweat used to trickle from them. One of them came to Allฤh's Messenger ๏ทบ who was in my house. While โ€™Umar ibn Al-Khaแนญแนญฤb was standing and delivering the sermon on a Friday, one of the companions of the Prophet, who was one of the foremost Muhajirs (emigrants) came (this Companion was Uthmฤn as mentioned in other wordings). โ€™Umar said to him, "What is the time now?" He replied, "I was busy and could not go back to my house till I heard the Adhฤn. I did not perform more than the ablution." Thereupon โ€™Umar said to him, "Did you perform only the ablution although you know that Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) used to order us to take a bath (on Fridays)?"

Point of evidence: โ€™Umar did not instruct him to go and make Ghusl, nor did โ€™Uthman himself depart to go and have a bath when โ€™Umar reminded him of that, and a large number of the Companions were present in this gathering. Narrated โ€™Ikrimah: Some people of Iraq came and said: Ibn 'Abbas, do you regard taking a bath on Friday as obligatory? He said: No, it is only a means of cleanliness, and is better for one who washes oneself. Anyone who does not take a bath, it is not essential for him. I inform you how the bath (on Friday) commenced. The people were poor and used to wear woolen clothes, and would carry loads on their backs. Their mosque was small and its rood was lowered down. It was a sort of trellis of vine. The Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) once came out on a hot day and the people perspired profusely in the woolen clothes so much so that foul smell emitted from them and it caused trouble to each other. When the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) found the foul smell, he said: O people, when this day (Friday) comes, you should take bath and every one should anoint the best oil and perfume one has. Ibn 'Abbas then said: Then Allah, the Exalted, provided wealth (to the people) and they wore clothes other than the woolen, and were spared from work, and their mosque became vast. The foul smell that caused trouble to them became non-existent.
CONCLUSION:
ู  It is HIGHLY recommended for a person to take bath before attending the Friday Khuแนญbah.
ู  If the body is enenating offensive smells, a person must remove this smell before attending the masjid, just as is the case with removing the smell of garlic and onion. It is for this this reason why Sheikhul Islam ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah stated [Al-Fatฤwฤ Al-Kubrฤ (5/307)]: โ€œThe bath on Friday is obligatory upon anyone who has sweat or odor that is harmful to others.โ€

A 32 years DIVORCED SINGLE MOTHER Wrote _Bitter truth.
I am writing to you in order to make someone understand that it's good to appreciate our partners despite their flaws.

I am 32 years of age.

My ex husband and  myself were  best of friends.

I waited until he completed college and started work.

My family and his family then met.

We got married and had a son. (7 years old now).

My husband was short tempered at times but our problems started when I wanted to make him feel he couldn't control me.

Everytime we argued, I would pack my bags and go to my family.

My sisters would phone my husband and shout at him.

If he was controlling me I would always dare him that if he wished, he could divorce me.

I never wanted divorce.

I just had pride and I never wanted to look like a loose woman in his eyes.

One day I pushed him so hard that for the first time he beat me and locked me outside.

I went to my family, my family took him to the police, every time I looked like I was being abused!

But to be honest, I used to abuse my husband emotionally.

He was arrested and detained.

I was asked by his family to withdraw the case.

I felt that what I was doing was wrong.

My husband was never a violent man, he did what he did because I pushed him to the wall of which he openly knelt down and apologized.

I withdrew the charge, and we reconciled.

After three months, I packed my bags after a small issue and he remained alone.

After two days, I
received a call that he was in the hospital.

My family told me that I shouldn't go there because it would look like I was begging him and my sisters believed he was feigning the illness.

All this time, people felt sorry for me like I was the one being abused.

He spent a week in the hospital, after he came out, I just received a divorce summon.

I wanted to say no to divorce, but because I felt this pride, I wanted him to change his mind and beg to me.

I called him and said he would get the divorce because I lived like I was in hell.

When we went to court, I wanted to make him pay, so I told the court that I needed his properties to be shared.

To my surprise he openly told the court that whatever he and I acquired together should be given to me, all he wanted was divorce.

We were divorced in 2009 July.

Now, my husband is married, whilst l am here wasted!

My family members are gossiping about me.

I depend on what my ex husband gives to my son for survival.

I know I wasted my marriage.

I am here telling all wives that they should be careful how they get advise.

Don't be cheated, don't entertain family interference in your marriage my dear readers.

Even my young sisters are much more respected than me.

Those who encouraged me to get divorced are always teasing and bad mouthing me.

Please ladies, be vigilant in your marriage.

Thought itโ€™s wise to share my story to save your marriage.

There is no benefit in pride for nothing.

SOMETIMES IT'S NOT THE MAN'S FAULT AT ALL, IT'S YOUR PRIDE, AND THE PEOPLE YOU ALLOWED TO ADVISE YOU, SO BE WISE AND VIGILANT IN YOUR Marriage.

Be Like This When Making Du'aa

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"When Allaah wants good for a slave, He inspires him to request of Him and ask for His help - and He makes [that] asking of help from Him and requesting of Him a means [of getting] the good that He has ordained for him, as 'Umar ibnul-Khattaab, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: 'I don't harbor worries about [my requests] being accepted and granted [by Allaah]; the only concern I have is about making the request [in the first place], for whenever I'm inspired to request [of Himl, indeed, [His] acceptance [of it] and granting [it] comes along with it.'"

Allaah Shall Give His Attention To His Servant In Proportion To...

Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"The secret of salaah lies in devotion to Allaah. The secret and the essence of salaah is to devote oneself to Allaah while praying - just as the slave should not turn his face away from the direction of the qiblah, he should also disallow his heart from giving attention to anything except his Lord. Therefore, the servant should let the Ka'bah - the House of Allaah - be the direction of his body and face, and let Allaah be the direction of his heart and soul. Allaah shall give His attention to His servant in proportion to the level of his devotion and focus in salaah. Thus, if he turns away from Allaah (by becoming unmindful), He too shall turn away from him - truly, as you judge, shall you yourself be judged."

The Effect Of Sins

Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"Sins not only transgress; they also bring about the consequence of stripping the heart of its modesty, a vital element for the heart's well-being and the source of all that is good."

Forwarded from THE OFFICIAL ENGLISH CHANNEL OF SHEIKH 'ABDULHAMฤชD IBN YAHYฤ€ AL-ZOUKORฤช (ุงู„ุฌุฒุงุก ู…ู† ุฌู†ุณ ุงู„ุนู…ู„)
The story of our brother, ฤ€dam al-Bolandฤซ by Shaykh Abลซ Muแธฅammad สฟAbd al-แธคamฤซd al-Zuสฟkurฤซ ุญูุธู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡:

"ุงู„ุญู…ุฏ ู„ู„ู‡ ูˆุงู„ุตู„ุงุฉ ูˆุงู„ุณู„ุงู… ุนู„ู‰ ุฑุณูˆู„ ุงู„ู„ู‡.
Perhaps those from amongst you remember our brother, ฤ€dam al-Bolandฤซ . I ask Allฤh to grant us and him thabฤt and tawfฤซq. He was determined to stay with us for a period of time. However, the Kuffฤr have seized his kids and handed over his son, สฟAbd al-Raแธฅmฤn to two wicked homosexuals, and they handed over his daughter, Maryam, to two evil lesbians. Since then, up until now, he has not been able to reach them, even for a visit. Through this, you realise the harm of staying between the Kuffฤr.

A Muslim boy is handed to those who engage in indecency, so by accompanying them, he may turn towards what they do (of homosexuality), or even worse, ember their religion (and abandon Islam), as he is unable to meet his father nor his mother, except if Allฤh ุณุจุญุงู†ู‡ ูˆุชุนุงู„ู‰ wills (otherwise).

And they gave the Muslim girl to two evil, wicked, Kฤfir homosexual women. Perhaps she ends up on their path, or worse than that, she embraces their religion. I ask Allฤh for safety.

So, O Muslims! Those who have been trialled with residing among the Kuffฤr, if you are able to leave, then leave. The Kฤfir is not to ever be trusted. Even if he claims to uphold human rights, he is a liar! Even if he showcases that he is merciful, he is a liar! They are the most rough, harsh, and evil people in terms of their hearts, such that the Prophet ๏ทบ said:
((ู„ุงูŽ ุชูู†ู’ุฒูŽุนู ุงู„ุฑู‘ูŽุญู’ู…ูŽุฉู ุฅูู„ุงู‘ูŽ ู…ูู†ู’ ุดูŽู‚ููŠู‘ู))
โ€œMercy is taken away only from him who is wretched.โ€ [Abลซ Dฤwลซd, 4942]

And the Kฤfir is wretched in the first place. The Kฤfir is wretched, [as Allah said]

{ู„ูŽุง ูŠูŽุตู’ู„ูŽุงู‡ูŽุง ุฅูู„ู‘ูŽุง ุงู„ู’ุฃูŽุดู’ู‚ูŽู‰}
{None shall enter it save the most wretched.} [Sลซrah al-Layl: 15]

{ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐููŠ ูŠูŽุตู’ู„ูŽู‰ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูŽุงุฑูŽ ุงู„ู’ูƒูุจู’ุฑูŽู‰ูฐ * ุซูู…ู‘ูŽ ู„ูŽุง ูŠูŽู…ููˆุชู ูููŠู‡ูŽุง ูˆูŽู„ูŽุง ูŠูŽุญู’ูŠูŽู‰ูฐ}
{who will burn in the greatest fire,} {where they will not หนbe able toหบ live or die.} [Sลซrah al-Aสฟlฤ: 12-13]

{ูˆูŽุณูŽูŠูุฌูŽู†ู‘ูŽุจูู‡ูŽุง ูฑู„ู’ุฃูŽุชู’ู‚ูŽู‰}
And Al-Muttaqqลซn will be far removed from it (Hell).} [Sลซrah al-Layl: 17]

Therefore, they are wretched, and staying amongst them may lead to wretchedness in terms of the Dunyฤ or ฤ€khirah. We ask Allฤh for salฤmah and สฟฤfiyyah.

He (al-akh ฤ€dam), was able to contact the government to seek their permission to visit his children. However, they rejected his request and said that they (the kids) were given to specific individuals, and we have no right to enter upon them. A tragedy! By Allฤh, a tragedy! I was saddened by him today. How is he? How is their mother? When they take your son before you and hand him over to the worst of the creation, and you unable to meet him, unable to see him, you don't know what state he is in. ู„ุง ุญูˆู„ ูˆู„ุง ู‚ูˆุฉ ุงู„ุง ุจุงู„ู„ู‡.

I ask Allฤh to give our brother ฤ€dam comfort, I ask Allฤh to comfort him and keep him steadfast upon the religion of Allฤh, and also to keep his wife steadfast upon the religion of Allฤh, and save us and all the Muslims from trials, that which is visible and that which is hidden.

And the man is miskฤซn, a new Muslim, even before he got here he was uncircumcised. He was new to Islฤm, so we encouraged him to get circumcised, so he went to the hospital and got circumcised. However, they took his children without prior warning. If they were to tell him to return, he would've returned .
He wasn't aware until they had taken them both (the children) from amongst the people and they took them infront of their mother, claiming that the kids had no one to take care of them and be responsible over them. Therefore, they gave them to the most evil of those in charge if they (the homosexuals) have in charge. They don't even have in charge (and the ability to cultivate and take responsibility). By Allฤh, for a man to sit with a pig is easier than for him to sit with those deaf and dumb who do not contemplate.โ€

The Enjoyment Of The Salaf Compared To The Enjoyment Of Our Time

Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"The early generations found enjoyment in matters pertaining to Allaah, Exalted be He, such as praying, reciting the Quraan, contemplating on the Words of Allaah, and listening to them, attending the assemblies of scholars and the gatherings of knowledge, fighting in battles for the sake of Allaah, enjoining the good and forbidding wrongdoing, loving and despising people for the sake of Allaah, etc. However, the preferences of the later generations, except those whom Allaah saved, became distorted and they sought enjoyment in musical instruments, songs, dancing, noise, and clamour, while desisting from doing deeds that Allaah loves. Indeed, the experience and enjoyment attained from melodies is nothing like the experience and enjoyment attained from the Quraan."

NOTE: The prohibition of tying the hair during แนขalฤh does not apply to women

_

QUESTION: Does this prohibition include tucking the bottom of the trousers into socks when praying?

ANSWERED by Sheikh Najeeb Ash-Sharโ€™abi แธฅafidhahullฤh:

โ€œNo, it is not considered KAFT (the term used to refer to tucking clothes and tying hair during แนขalฤh); because it is the custom of some to sometimes wear it in the manner described.โ€
