Summarised benefits from Sheikh Uthaymeen's explanation of Riyadh As-saliheen

BENEFIT 1 (ref -> 1/21):

The Niyyah (intention) is located in the heart. There is no need to utter the intention out loud because Allah knows what is in our hearts. What's more, uttering the intention out loud is an innovation in the Deen (Bid’ah), because the Prophet ﷺ NEVER used to utter the intention out loud.

Example:

نويت أن أصلي الظهر أربع ركعات لله تعالى

Uttering this statement ⤴️ out loud before commencing the prayer is an innovation!

The One Who Truly Fears Allaah

Ibn Rajab رحمه الله reported that some of the Salaf would say:

ليس الخائف من بكي وعصر عينيه،
"The person who fears Allāh is not the one who weeps and sheds tears,

إنما الخائف من ترك ما اشتهى من الحرام إذا قدر عليه،
but rather, the person who truly fears Allāh is the one who abandons what he desires of the ḥarām when he has the ability to do it.

ومن هنا عظم ثواب من أطاع الله سرا بينه وبينه.
Hence, the greatest reward is for those who obey Allāh in private."

Like A Breeze That Blows Through The Heart

Al-Imaam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

‎"Longing for Allaah and the meeting with Him is like a breeze that blows through the heart and removes the blaze of this worldly life."

‎[Al-Fawaaid, Pg. 157]

Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

“Certainly, most of creation, they only want to fulfill their needs by utilising you, even if that harms you in your religion or your worldly life. Their only goal is fulfilling their needs even if it harms you, and the Lord - Blessed is He and Most High - only wants to utilise you for you. He wants to do good to you, for you - not for His benefit, and He wants to remove harm from you, so how do you hang your hopes, your expectations, and your fears on other than Him?!”

This ⤴️ email is for students to ask questions, raise concerns and offer suggestions regarding classes at Umm Al-Quraa.

The email is monitored by three brothers, so we hope it serves as a Fitnah-free communication method for sisters who attend classes.
