The Ruling On Making Takbeer After Each Salaah During The Days Of Tashriq

The Lajnah (Permanent Committee For Scholarly Research And Ifta’) were asked the following question:

Q: I hear some people reciting Takbir (saying: “Allahu Akbar [Allah is the Greatest]”) after each Salah (Prayer) during the Days of Tashriq (11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah) until the ‘Asr (Afternoon) Prayer of the third day. Is this correct or not?

A: It is prescribed to recite an unrestricted [in terms of time. Ed] or a restricted Takbir during ‘Eid-ul-Adha (the Festival of the Sacrifice). The unrestricted Takbir can be recited at any time from the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah until the last Day of Tashriq. The restricted Takbir should be recited after the Obligatory Daily Prayers starting from the Fajr (Dawn) Prayer of the Day of `Arafah until the ‘Asr Prayer on the last Day of Tashriq. The evidence for the permissibility of doing this is the Ijma‘ (consensus of scholars) and the practice of the Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet, may Allah be pleased with them).

May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

The 3 days following Eidul Adh-ha are known as the days of 'Tashreeq' because they used to cut the meat in strips and leave them to dry in the sun. [Fat-hul Bari]

And just like the day of 'Eid, fasting these 3 days is also forbidden; because the Prophet ﷺ said:

“The days of Tashriq (i.e. the 11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah) are days of eating, drinking and remembrance of Allah, the Most Great and Glorious."

The Righteous Women Didn't Care About The Poverty Of Their Husbands

It is reported that al-imaam Maalik Ibn Anas, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said:

"Indeed, the wives of the companions sought the Hereafter, so they did not care about the poverty of their husbands."

The Prophet ﷺ said: "the days of tashreeq are days of eating and drinking"

Be Mentioned In The Heavens & Receive Light On The Earth

The Prophet, salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said:

“And upon you is to recite the Qurʾaan and remember Allaah ʿAzza Wa Jal, for indeed it would be (a cause of) your mention in the heavens, and a light for you on the earth.”

You Want To Gain Knowledge & Increase Your Eemaan? The One Who Is Sincere Will Surely Seek & Attain Them

Narrated Yazeed Ibn 'Ameerah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"When death was upon Mu'aadh Ibn Jabal, it was said to him: 'O Abaa 'Abdir-Rahmaan, advise us.' He said: 'Sit me up.' So he said: 'Indeed, knowledge and faith are at their places, whoever desires them shall find them.' He said that three times..."

Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), reported: I heard the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ as saying:

"No servant (of Allaah) suffers a calamity and then says: 'Verily we belong to Allaah and to Him we shall return; O Allaah, reward me for my affliction and replace it for me with something better than it,' except that Allaah will reward him for his affliction and would give him something better than it in exchange." She (Umm Salamah) said: "When Abuu Salamah died, I uttered (these very words) as I was commanded (to do) by the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ). So Allaah gave me better in exchange than him. (I was taken as the wife of) the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ)."

WARNING!

Sheikh Albani rahimahullah classified this hadeeth as “Munkar” (a weak report transmitted by an unreliable narrator contradictory to that of a reliable narrator) [As-Silsilah Adh-Dha’eefah (No. 6428)]

Note:
We are not allowed to attribute this supplication to the Prophet ﷺ as that would be a lie, but this does not mean that we are not allowed to seek protection with Allah from this heat.

May Allah protect the Muslims from the heat of this life as well as the Next.
How Fortunate He Is...

Al-Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"How fortunate is the one whom Allaah has made unknown/unheard of."

The Salaf used to try and hide their deeds and run away from positions of leadership etc. as they didn't want to be known except with Allaah. But we live in a time where so many people publicise their good deeds to the world, and they want their name to be known. May Allaah protect us, purify our hearts, and make us sincere like the Salaf.
