🎧 Jumu'ah Khutbah 📝 Who's Guidance Are You Following When Celebrating The Mawlid? 🕰 26:07 📢 Abū Sulaymān Khālid Al-Ḥātimī 🗓 15th of Rabī' Al-Awwal 1443/15th Oct 2021 🕋 Masjid Al-Mukhbiteen
🎧 Summary of Jumu'ah Khutbah Entitled:

🎙 Who's Guidance Are You Following When Celebrating The Mawlid?

1⃣ Importance of the obedience of the Prophet ﷺ

2⃣ True love of the Prophet ﷺ is not attained by celebrating the mawlid

3️⃣ Worshipping Allāh is to be done in the same manner that the Prophet ﷺ worshipped Allāh and commanded otherwise you've been threatened with a great warning

4️⃣ When was the Prophet ﷺ born and when did he die?

5️⃣ The mawlid was not done by the Prophet ﷺ, his wives, children, companions nor anyone from the best three generations

6️⃣ Who invented the mawlid and their history

7️⃣ Celebrating the mawlid is an imitation of the Christians in their celebration of Christmas

8️⃣ Those who celebrate the mawlid have criticised the faithfulness of the Prophet ﷺ and his companions as well as claiming the religion was incomplete when the Prophet ﷺ left this world, whether they like it or not

9️⃣ Beware of the misguided innovations and invented methodologies

🔟 Is there ignorance greater than seeking to get closer to Allāh in a manner which he has not legislated?!

We ask Allah to make us from those who worship him the same way his messenger ﷺ worshipped him and that he distances us from any newly invented matter in the religion.

It's Not Worth It

Al-Imaam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

“To restrain oneself from fulfilling unlawful desires is easier than to endure that which is the result of doing so, because giving in to one's desires will either cause pain and punishment or it will prevent a more perfect pleasure than could ever be experienced in this worldly life.”

Are You Shackled By Your Sins?

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"Sins are like chains and locks preventing their perpetrator from roaming the vast garden of Tawheed and reaping the fruits of righteous actions."

When the corona restrictions came into effect we moaned and groaned about masjids being closed and not being able to gather with our fellow Muslims, but now that the restrictions have been lifted why are we not making the most of the opportunity?

If you saw a job advert in your City offering £100 P.H., would you think twice before applying - considering you had all the credentials?

Well, I want to invite you to something that pays more, and rest assured, you definitely have the credentials (in-shā-Allāh)

Do Not Reveal Your Bedroom Secrets

Asmā Bint Yazīd radhiyallāhu 'anhā reported that she was with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ whilst men and women were sitting; so he [ﷺ] said:

"Would a man say what he did with his wife (i.e. sexual relations) and would a woman inform (others) what she did with her husband?” The people remained silent; So I (Asmā') said: "Yes, by Allāh! O Messenger of Allāh they (i.e. women) do that and they (i.e. men) do that."

He ﷺ said: "Do not do so; for indeed it is like a male devil meeting a female devil in the road and having sex with her whilst the people are looking."

This might be ovbious to many of you, but unfortunately there are people out there who are unaware that this is Ḥarām. That's why we must not shy away from seeking and spreading knowledge.

In fact, not long ago, I was informed of a sister who - after being married for several months - was unaware that it's obligatory to take a full bath (ghusl) after having sexual intercourse. She only came to find out after informing a relative that she hadn't washed her hair for over a month. The relative was shocked and assumed that there was discord between the couple. But upon enquiry, it became clear that the sister/wife was unaware of this vital piece of knowledge.

More shockingly, a brother relayed to me that in America there was a sister who got married two men believing that polygamy was permissible for women just as it's permissible for men. الله المستعان

That's why I highly recommend the Muslims in London to attend the Ādāb Az-Zifāf (etiquettes of marriage) class that's currently being taught by our teacher, Abū Aṭiyyah ḥafidhahullāh at Masjid Muqbil; see class (21) https://t.me/madrasatuna/1153

The class is open to both brothers and sister. What a romantic way to spend your Friday evening!
There Is Nothing More Beneficial To The Heart

Al-Imaam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

“There is nothing more beneficial to the heart than reciting the Quraan, with contemplation and reflection. The Quraan bequeathes love, aspiration, fear, hope, repentance, reliance, pleasure, contentment, authority, gratitude, patience, and all the other [necessary] conditions that are life [i.e.vital] to the heart and perfection of it. Likewise, it repels all reprehensible characteristics and actions which cause corruption and destroy the heart.”

Like A Breeze That Blows Through The Heart

Al-Imaam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

‎"Longing for Allaah and the meeting with Him is like a breeze that blows through the heart and removes the blaze of this worldly life."

The Origin Of Every Good

How The Wise Man Should Be With His Family

Ibn 'Aqeel, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

"When the wise man is alone with his wife, he should then leave his intellect in a corner as a respected shaykh and (start) joking and fooling around with her to give her and her soul its rights. And when he is alone with his children, then he should come to them in their shape (I.e. act like them, be like them etc)."
