The One Who Truly Fears Allaah
Ibn Rajab رحمه الله reported that some of the Salaf would say:
ليس الخائف من بكي وعصر عينيه،
"The person who fears Allāh is not the one who weeps and sheds tears,
but rather, the person who truly fears Allāh is the one who abandons what he desires of the ḥarām when he has the ability to do it.
Hence, the greatest reward is for those who obey Allāh in private."

Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
“Certainly, most of creation, they only want to fulfill their needs by utilising you, even if that harms you in your religion or your worldly life. Their only goal is fulfilling their needs even if it harms you, and the Lord - Blessed is He and Most High - only wants to utilise you for you. He wants to do good to you, for you - not for His benefit, and He wants to remove harm from you, so how do you hang your hopes, your expectations, and your fears on other than Him?!”

Verily to Allāh ﷻ we belong and to him we shall return.
Oh Allāh ﷻ reward us for our affliction and and give us something better in exchange for it!
Verily for Allāh ﷻ belongs that which he takes and that which he gives and everything with him has an appointed time.
It has reached us news that grieves the people of the Sunnah for our beloved Sheikh Abū 'Abdillāh Wahb Ibn 'Abdillāh Ath-Thayfāni رحمه الله has returned back to his Lord ﷻ.
And we say as the prophet ﷺ said when his son passed away:
إن العين تدمع، والقلب يحزن، ولا تقول إلا ما يرضى ربنا وإنا بفراقك يا شيخنا أبا عبد الله لمحزونون
Verily the eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved and we will not say except that which pleases our Lord. Verily we are grieved O Our Sheikh Abā 'Abdillāh by your departure!
Ayyūb As-Sakhtiyānī - may Allāh ﷻ have mercy upon him - said:
Verily I am informed regarding the death of a person from the people of the Sunnah and it is as if I have lost some of my limbs.
Ḥammād Ibn Zayd - may Allāh ﷻ have mercy upon him - said:
When it would reach Ayyūb news of the death of a young boy from the people of Ḥadīth this would be seen from him (ie it as if he lost some of his limbs).
The Sheikh was well-known in being firm upon the Manhaj of the Salaf and stern against the people of innovation.
What a great affair it is that a person departs from this world while still being upon Islām and the Sunnah.
We hope by the permission of Allāh ﷻ that he is one who is now free from the distress and worries of this dunya and is in a state of tranquility with the Creator ﷻ.
We have been blessed, and all praise belongs to Allāh ﷻ, to have been given the opportunity to have 2 lectures with the Sheikh رحمه الله. Lectures with an abundance amount of benefits.

Reflect Over Your Time In Seclusion

Ibnul-Jawzee, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
"O servant, bring yourself to account in your seclusion, think of the extinction of your time, and work in your free time for your hard time."

From The Greatest Thing That Harms You
Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
"From the greatest things that harm the person is free time. The soul will never sit idly; rather, the soul will either busy itself with what benefits it or what harms it. This is inevitable."

A Great Cause For The Absence Of Success In One's Life
Ash-Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-'Uthaymeen, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
"The heedlessness of the heart when it comes to the remembrance of Allaah is the cause for failure, wasting time, and the absence of success, just as Allaah said: 'and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, and who follows his own lusts, and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.' [Al-Quraan 18:28]. And the meaning of 'affair' means all of his affairs will result in failure. There is no blessing in it. However, when a person is continuous upon the remembrance of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, with his tongue, heart, and limbs, he will acquire a lot of blessings and good in his life."

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
"Being firm upon knowledge and faith during the occurrence of trials and doubts is from the greatest of blessings. There are people who have faith during the times of well-being, but when they're put to trial, they apostate. Therefore, it must be known, that a person's firmness upon his faith during trials and doubts is from the greatest of blessings."
