In contrast, Russian command has concentrated strike forces on this axis. Between 10 and 18 October, Russian forces attempted to expand their breakthrough. Of particular note is the use of equipment in a combined attack on Volodymyrivka, involving around 20 pieces of heavy equipment and 6 motorcycles. The assault was launched from the direction of Novotoretske and Popiv Yar.

There is significant infiltration of Russian forces into the southern and western parts of the city with the aim of consolidating positions and degrading the defending side’s organization. Increased pressure on logistics along this axis has also been observed.
