🇷🇺 Russian advances: Russian forces have carried out new offensive operations in the Lyptsi direction towards Ukrainian positions located within the town, Russian forces reportedly advanced from the Russian occupied settlement of Hlyboke into Lyptsi’s northern dacha regions positioned near the Kharkiv River. Russia has utilized heavy MLRS (Multi Launch Rocket Systems) and KAB glide bomb attacks against Lyptsi and its surrounding settlements for the last six weeks to soften Ukrainian positions for the preparation of new assaults.

📍Mapped Territorial Changes: Only the Pro Ukrainian Deepstate map already had these positions mapped as being within the grey zone, no new updated territorial changes have yet been uploaded by Deepstate or any other source, likely due to lack of geolocated footage from within the region.

📚Open-Source Information: The Dnipro Operational Strategic Group of Ukrainian forces reported that Russian forces had resumed offensive actions in the northern surroundings of the town of Lyptsi towards the Kharkiv Riverbank. In addition, the Dnipro Operational Strategic Group also wrote that Russian forces attempted offensive actions within the Vovchans’k region but were “Unsuccessful”.
Local Ukrainian monitoring channel “Monitor 1654 Kharkiv” reported throughout the September period of 2025 about increases of MLRS (Multi Launch Rocket Systems) and KAB glide bomb attacks against the town of Lyptsi and surrounding settlements confirming increased Russian attacks and interests in this section of the frontline.

🎯Strategic Value: Russian forces are once again adding pressure to the Northern Kharkiv frontline attempting to advance and gain positions along the Kharkiv River to assist with assaults deeper into the Ukrainian controlled town of Lyptsi, Kharkiv Oblast. Russian forces gaining positions within the northern sectors of Lyptsi means they can more easily hold down positions and increase assaults deeper into the town utilizing basements and destroyed buildings. Russian forces gaining more control over Lyptsi adds more risk to the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv and increases the fear of the city being drawn closer into the scope of the frontline, which is situated at this time just 18km away.

🇷🇺 Russian Advances
Russian forces in the Velykomykhailivka sector continued their offensive around Sosnivka village. By September 20, RF Ministry of Defense claims that units of the "Vostok" group took control of Berezove and Ternove villages, and on September 22. In total, on this bridgehead, the Russian side claims to have "liberated" nine settlements in Dnipropetrovsk region. The attacks were supported by massive aviation strikes: on September 22 alone, the enemy conducted 45 airstrikes and dropped 98 guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian troop positions. The attackers' tactics include using small assault groups and sabotage-reconnaissance detachments that covertly penetrate the rear. Specifically, attempts by Russian SRGs to break through forest belts toward the industrial zone of Berezove village were noted, creating a threat to Ukrainian positions near Sosnivka.

📍 Mapped Territorial Changes
On maps from the independent DeepState project, RF Armed Forces advancement is observed. The villages of Novomykolaivka and Novoivanivka (Zaporizhzhia region) have been captured. Also advancement around Kalynivske, Berezove, and Ternove. Significant expansion of the gray zone is observed. The area of captured territory over the past week is estimated at 28.4 sq km.

📚 Open Sources
Russian official sources and military correspondents extensively cover this operation as one of the few RF offensive initiatives in autumn. On September 11, the RF Ministry of Defense announced the "liberation" of Sosnivka by "Vostok" grouping forces. On September 20, the department published footage of the Berezove assault, and on the 22nd officially confirmed the capture of Kalynivske – a village called "the seventh liberated settlement in Dnipropetrovsk region."

🇺🇦 Ukrainian Sources
Ukrainian command acknowledges an extremely tense situation at the junction of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. According to AFU General Staff data, the enemy sharply increased activity on the Novopavlivka direction: if about 20 assault actions were recorded the day before, on September 22-23 their number increased to 31-33 per day. The enemy is attempting to break through simultaneously at several points, literally "piling on" with forces from several brigades. The General Staff morning report of September 23 indicated that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian units repelled 31 attacks in the areas of settlements Filiia, Sichneve, Shevchenko, Sosnivka, Novoivanovka, Ternove, Mirne, Berezove, Novohrihorivka, and Novomykolaivka, while fighting continued in three other sectors. A day earlier, on the 22nd, the General Staff noted the fiercest battles near Pokrovsk and on the Novopavlivka front, where the enemy conducted 44 and 33 assault sorties respectively over 24 hours.
Ukrainian military experts acknowledge that the enemy is trying to exploit he vulnerability of the front junction. AFU fighter with callsign "Muchnoi" noted tree directions of RF Armed Forces strikes in this sector: Ivanivka (bypassing Novopavlivka from the south), Novomykhailivka (frontal pressure on Velykomykhailivka using artillery and aviation), and Berezove (breakthrough through forest belts, creating a threat to the defense flank near Sosnivka).

🎯 Strategic Significance
Advancement in this sector is a consequence of the thinning of AFU defensive lines. In early summer, Russian forces managed to create a crack in the front in the Bahatyr area, which pulled other front sectors along with it, and the situation there still cannot be called fully stable. Now a similar situation is occurring in the Sosnivka area. If this sector is not stabilized, it could further stretch the already thin AFU forces on the front, which could lead to a breakthrough like the one observed in the Dobropillia sector.

🇷🇺 Russian Advances: As of the 29th of September 2025, Russian forces have expanded their offensive operations against the town of Stepnohirsk, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, expanding positions along the E105 Highway ring road situated in the western section of the town as well as capturing the third micro district taking control of "Stepnohirska Dytiacha Muzychna Shkola" school and a series of high rise apartment buildings that allow for fire control over the northern region of the town.

🇷🇺 Russian Advances: The situation in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast remains highly dynamic. This sector continues to be weakly stabilized due to the heavy strain on Ukrainian Armed Forces resources along other directions.

🇷🇺 Russian sources: Russian war correspondents and Telegram channels generally confirm RuAF gains near Oleksiivka and Sosnivka, adding operational details. In particular, war correspondent Marat Khairullin described the strategy in this sector as “cutting UAF logistics.” According to his assessment, the seizure of Stepove allowed Russian forces to sever the Orestopil–Oleksiivka highway, which previously linked two major Ukrainian defensive hubs — northern and southern. As a result, these UAF strongpoints are now isolated from one another, creating conditions for their gradual destruction by Russian troops. Other pro-Russian analysts likewise emphasized that the capture of Sosnivka and neighboring villages disrupted UAF resupply lines between Velyka Mykhailivka and Orestopil.

🇺🇦 Ukrainian sources: According to the UAF General Staff report on 29 September, the enemy launched 24 assault attempts in a single day across the Novopavlivka axis, in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Piddubne, Vorone, Sosnivka, Sichneve, Kalynivske, Ternove, Olhivske, and Novohryhorivka. All of these attacks were repelled by Ukrainian defenses. The same report highlighted that UAF defenders also halted Russian offensive actions near Oleksiivka, Zaporizke, Berezove, and Novomykolaivka — effectively along the entire line of the enemy’s new breakthroughs. Operational Command “East” noted that the situation was particularly tense on the Pokrovsk axis, where Russia deployed significant forces and conducted continuous artillery and air strikes. Nevertheless, Kyiv emphasized that all enemy attempts to penetrate UAF defensive lines in these areas failed.
A special statement was issued by the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade, which defends this sector. The brigade denied Russian claims of “occupying” Verbove, calling them fake. According to Ukrainian soldiers, a small enemy group did infiltrate the outskirts of Verbove and filmed footage with a Russian flag, but was soon completely destroyed, and the village was cleared by the 110th Brigade. “Verbove is under the control of the 110th Brigade”, the unit stressed, adding that DeepState’s labeling of the settlement as a “grey zone” was inaccurate. The brigade also noted that they “have questions regarding the information activity” of certain OSINT projects that create a distorted picture favorable to the adversary.
