🧵 Frontline Sentinel – Siversk, Donetsk Oblast, 30/07/2025
🇷🇺 Russian Advances
Russian forces continued offensive operations on the Siversk axis, advancing in the Serebryanka and Grigorovka areas across the Seversky Donets River and closely approaching the outskirts of Siversk city. Simultaneously, Russian assault groups are conducting offensive operations from the southeast in the Verkhnekamenskoye area.
📍 Mapped Changes
New territorial captures are confirmed by independent cartographic resources. Neutral project Suriyak Maps reports Russian force consolidation in central Serebryanka and the northwestern outskirts of Verkhnekamenskoye. Similarly, DeepState map has updated, recording enemy advancement in Verkhnekamenskoye areas. Information also exists regarding advancement in Serebryanka Forest to the north. Total capture area on DeepState maps: 11.6 km².
📚 Open Sources
Russian military Telegram channels and pro-government bloggers reported Russian unit consolidation in Serebryanka and Verkhnekamenskoye areas, publishing photos and videos from forward positions confirming presence in these sectors. Specifically, claims state that Russian advance detachments approached closely to Siversk's eastern outskirts. Independent OSINT analysts confirmed Russian advancement presence, though conservatively assess its scale. Ukrainian command in official General Staff reports mentions fighting in Verkhnekamenskoye, Vyemka, and Grigorovka areas but does not confirm loss of settlements or significant front line changes. Meanwhile, independent Ukrainian analysts and monitoring projects (e.g., DeepState) note "gray zone" expansion.
🎯 Strategic Significance
Currently, Russian forces are advancing east of Siversk, but the situation remains controlled. The situation in Serebryanka Forest also requires clarification. In strategic perspective, control of this zone opens the path for offensive operations against key Ukrainian defense nodes—Slavyansk and Kramatorsk—from the northeastern direction. Additionally, the emergence of a new threat focus forces UAF to disperse forces, diverting reserves to defend the Siversk sector, potentially facilitating further Russian offensive operations on other front segments.

🎯 Strategic Significance: Russian forces continue to advance in a northern direction towards the town of Stepnohirs'k using the village of Plavni to advance and gain further operational control over the east bank of the Dnipro River. Russian forces continue to expand their overall western flank around the strategic city of Orikhiv, whilst simultaneously adding more pressure to the city of Zaporizhzhia.

🧵 Frontline Sentinel – Iskra, Donetsk Oblast, 07/08/2025
🇷🇺 Russian Advances
Russian forces from late July through the first week of August 2025 actively conducted offensive operations on the Novopavlovsk axis, particularly in the Voskresénka – Oleksandrohrad – Iskra – Zelenyi Hai – Dachne sector. According to UAF General Staff data, numerous enemy assault attacks were recorded daily—up to 11-23 breakthrough attempts per day, which Ukrainian defense repelled in the areas of Voskresénka, Oleksandrohrad, Zelenyi Hai, Piddubne, Tovste, Maliivka, and Novopil settlements. As a result of these offensive operations, by late July - early August, Russians succeeded in advancing in some sectors. According to DeepState project data and other open sources, by July 26, Russian forces managed to gain foothold in Zelenyi Hai village on the Donetsk-Dnipropetrovsk Oblast border. Voskresénka also came under assault—as of August 6, it was practically lost by Ukrainian forces.
📍 Mapped Changes
On Deep State analytical project maps, Russian Armed Forces advancement is observed north of Yalta and Zirka, as well as east of Voskresénka. Independent cartographic analysis by Suriyak Maps corroborates these territorial shifts, showing Russian consolidation in previously contested areas. The total capture area is estimated at 16.09 sq km.
📚 Open-Source Information
Russian military-affiliated Telegram channels reported continued advances through the Zelenyi Hai–Oleksandrohrad sector, claiming full control over Zelenyi Hai and ongoing assaults on Oleksandrohrad's outskirts. Ukrainian official channels, including the General Staff, have not publicly confirmed the loss of Zelenyi Hai but have repeatedly reported daily repelled attacks in the surrounding area. On August 3rd, Operational Command "Khortytsia" acknowledged that Russian forces were attempting to push toward Filia and the administrative border with Dnipropetrovsk region, confirming that the front line was "under extreme pressure" in this sector. No official Ukrainian statements were issued regarding the control status of Oleksandrohrad or Iskra.
🎯 Strategic Significance
Currently, Russian Armed Forces maintain pressure on this front sector following last month's breakthrough. UAF succeeded in reducing the advancement tempo, but this front section remains extremely unstable. Russian forces seek to establish a large stable bridgehead for further advancement into Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

🧵 Frontline Sentinel – Kam’yans’ke, Zaporizhzhia region 10/08/2025:
🇺🇦 Ukrainian Advances: The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) has advanced south from Stepnohirsk and established a position within the northern part of Kam’yans’ke town retaking 0.2 km² of territory. Ukrainain forces were also able to establish control over the strategic high ground positioned to the north east of Kam’yans’ke town retaining control over 1.78 km².
📍Mapped Territorial Changes: neutral mapping project Suriyak Maps confirmed the territorial changes as of the following the newly launched Ukrainian offensive. Pro Ukrainian mapping project Deep State Map extended the grey zone within the north eastern territory of Kam’yans’ke acknowledging a change in territory via grey zone in benefit of Ukraine.
📚Open-Source Information: The new Ukrainian offensive was announced by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“Kamianske is quite an important settlement... Our positions there have remained unchanged, and now the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting search and strike operations to push the enemy back from the positions we had to retreat from and restore our positions, regaining control of this settlement,” Voloshyn said.
🎯Strategic Value: Ukrainian forces have regained positions within the town of Kam’yans’ke forcing russian command to focus on Kam’yans’ke once again instead of expanding their offensive towards Plavni and Stepnohirsk. In addition Ukraine has the possibility from the offensive to trap Russian forces within the village of Plavni after flanking their positions and threatening an encirclement utilising the left bank of the Dnipro River.

🧵 Frontline Sentinel – Dobropillia, Donetsk Oblast, 14/08/2025
🇷🇺 Russian Advances: Russian forces have launched a rapid offensive on the Dobropillia axis in Donetsk Oblast, penetrating Ukrainian lines by an estimated 10–15 km and seizing footholds in several frontline villages. Small assault detachments infiltrated through tree lines into Kucheriv Yar, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, and Vesele, bringing Russian units within roughly 10 km of the strategic Dobropillia–Kramatorsk highway. Forward elements reportedly even reached that roadway (T-0514) and approached the outskirts of Dobropillia city itself. Simultaneously, Russian assault groups are pushing from the east/southeast, bypassing new Ukrainian fortifications in the Shakhove area and advancing toward villages such as Vilne and Bilytske on the Pokrovsk–Dobropillia sector.
📍Mapped Territorial Changes: DeepState map depicting the narrow Russian “wedge” breaking through Ukrainian lines near Dobropillia. Independent cartographic sources confirm these territorial changes. Neutral mapping project Suriyak Maps reports that Russian forces expanded their operations to the outskirts of Ivanivka, Nove Shakhove, Vilne, and Zolotyi Kolodiaz, indicating a significant incursion beyond Ukraine’s initial defensive line. Likewise, the respected DeepState live map has updated to show a narrow wedge-shaped penetration approximately 15 km deep and 5–6 km wide into Ukrainian-held territory. RUAF captured around 50 km² around Razine plus breakthrough from 07.08.2025 to 14.08.2025.
📚 Open Sources: Russian and independent sources: Moscow’s Defense Ministry has been circumspect, stating only that its “Centre” group units “improved their positions” on the frontline’s edge near Dobropillia. Russian pro-war Telegram channels acknowledge that sabotage-reconnaissance groups have infiltrated the area around Dobropillia, but even they urge caution on declaring a major breakthrough. For example, the Two Majors channel noted Russian forward units are advancing in that direction but said it’s “difficult to judge the real scale” of the gains so far, while the prominent Rybar outlet (linked to Russia’s MoD) argued it is too early to claim Russian forces have secured the area near Dobropillia without solid visual evidence. Some Kremlin-linked commentators have hyped the situation – ex-advisor Sergey Markov asserted that a “partial collapse” of Ukraine’s defence due to troop shortages enabled the Russian push, calling it “a gift to Putin” ahead of upcoming talks – but military analysts outside Russia are more measured.

🇺🇦 Ukrainian sources: Ukrainian officials concede that a small enemy detachment managed to bypass defences in this sector, but they strongly refute the idea of a wide-scale breakthrough. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that groups of Russian soldiers advanced about 10 km in several places “without equipment, only weapons in their hands,” stressing that some of these infiltrators have already been “found – partly destroyed, partly captured” and vowing that the rest will be eliminated soon. The Ukrainian General Staff’s morning update on August 12 noted “heavy defensive fighting against superior enemy forces” in the Dobropillia-Pokrovsk area, but stated that “effective measures” are being taken to halt the advance. The military’s Dnipro Operational Group characterised the situation as “difficult and fluid” yet emphasised that Russian troops “do not control the territory” they’ve entered; Ukrainian defenders are engaged in destroying the small infiltrating groups despite taking losses. Reinforcements have been rushed in – notably, Ukraine’s new 1st “Azov” Corps (built around the veteran Azov Brigade) was ordered to assume responsibility for this sector as of August 12. Azov unit commanders reported they have already “blocked” the enemy in a certain area near Dobropillia. (This elite formation replaced a local tactical group that had reportedly been overwhelmed on this part of the front.) Independent Ukrainian OSINT monitors, like DeepState, paint a frank picture of the challenges: “The situation is chaotic,” DeepState wrote in its August 11 briefing, describing how the enemy found gaps in the defence and “is seeping deeper, trying to quickly entrench and amass forces for further advances… If they occupy our fortifications, it will be extremely difficult to dislodge them.” Still, Ukraine’s command has not reported the loss of any major town in the area, referring to the affected villages as a contested “grey zone” expansion rather than confirmed Russian control.
🎯 Strategic Significance: This breakthrough is the result of manpower shortages and communication issues. One of the primary factors enabling it has been the disorganisation of units operating in this sector, combined with the weakening of other parts of the front due to the redeployment of reserves from those areas. The depth of the penetration has reached rear positions, and if Russian Armed Forces are able to consolidate and expand the breach, it is likely to develop in a manner similar to the May operation, when Russian forces managed to push through the road between Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk. Time is a decisive factor, with positions in the Shakhove area being the most vulnerable. Ukrainian forces will attempt to stabilise this sector and, if possible, cut it off, but shifting a large contingent from other directions risks creating similar breakthroughs elsewhere.
