The reason development has been slow with Reebitt and now Openhonk is mainly due to funds and access to paid tooling.

The point of Reebitt was to be a freely developed app and free to access app.

So working on the open source version is hitting brick walls and hopping over them when free credits run out 😖

Other reasons include health, disabilities and a general lack of give af at times due to ongoing wars just being so consistent

Reebitt was always donation free and self funded

Not sure about Openhonk and if it will have a donation link or not due to the fact that development costs are pushing the self funding

However for now, it will remain donation free, and if cannot hop over the brick wall and needs urgent development maybe temporary donations would be requested then the link removed when funds reached

But so far development has been mostly free / cheap and is progressing nicely nicely

As for the user base, Openhonk won't have any analytics built in or adverts.

It will simply be a side loading apk that you must install yourself away from play store or any app store hosted on github and here, so we won't know the full userbase

That is until locked out for ID verification -_-

Development continues and mission moves forward, the immersive gallery app will be merged into Openhonk so the layout and theme is similar but not same, not sure how it will turn out, pretty naff developer here but learning as go.

Appreciate those using the Reebitt app, its very few however I understand closed source apps can be sketchy so the idea is to rebuild it open source so anyone can analyze the code and report on it

Fully immersive, security hardened, swipe right / left to switch main tabs, live screenshots + fav icon fallback, theme switcher, built in adblock plus blocklist.

Only really tested in portrait mode need to test landscape.
