βοΈIt costs nothing and brings in a lot.
It enriches the recipient
without making the giver poorer.
It's short as lightning
but the memory of it is often imperishable.
No one is so rich that he could do without,
none so poor that he could not afford it.
It means rest for the tired,
encouragement for the discouraged,
cheering up for the sorrowful,
and it is the best antidote to trouble.
You can't buy it
nor ask
nor borrow
nor steal
because it only gets its value
when it is given away.
Because no one needs it so badly
like the one who has no more left for others.
What is that?

POLARITY
The 4th Principle
of Natural Law
(Hermetic Principles)
βοΈThe fourth hermetic principle explains that there are two poles in everything and that opposites are really only two extremes of the same thing, the difference being only in degree.
An obvious example being hot and cold β both being temperature, varying only in degree. And that there is no clear crossover moment when hot stops being hot, and starts being cold and vice, versa with no absolutes on either end. The same can be said of βlight and darknessβ βhard and softβ βbig or smallβ and even βlove and hate.β
This principle is important to Hermeticists, because it suggests we can change the polarity of a degree of emotion, by recognizing it is the same and choosing the degree which best suits our needs.
This practice is the art of MENTAL ALCHEMY. π«
