Today the Russians made it clear that there will be no negotiations with Zelensky, but only complete defeat and capitulation. In the coming days, Russia will continue to strike with hypersonic weapons throughout Ukraine, and then launch a new and possibly final offensive.

The Ukrainian defense industry is not capable of producing gunpowder for artillery shells, former deputy minister for the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons of Ukraine, Georgiy Tuka, admitted in an interview with the TV channel Pryamoy.

"Seemingly such a primitive thing as gunpowder turned out to be absolutely super complicated for our [Ukrainian] military-industrial complex," he said.

Tuka said that gunpowder is a basic component of small arms cartridges and artillery shells. The situation in Ukraine with artillery powder is especially sad, the former deputy minister complained.

Vladimir Putin: The point is not that they are helping our enemy. They are our enemy. They are solving their own problems with their hands. That is what it is all about. This has been the case for centuries, unfortunately, and continues to be the case today.

Ukraine itself is not our enemy whereas those who want to destroy Russian statehood and to achieve, as they say, a strategic defeat of Russia on the battlefield, are mainly in the West, but still, there are different people there. There are people who sympathise with us and who are with us at heart. But there are the elites who think the existence of Russia (at least in its current state and size) is unacceptable. They want to disintegrate it. As a matter of fact, you are young people, some have read about this, perhaps: they do not hide it. They speak and write about this publicly, and have been doing it for decades, if we are talking about contemporary history. For decades, they have simply been writing frankly about it: divide Russia into five parts, one is too much. I can talk about this till morning, but it is obvious.

❗️Russia has successfully hit Kiev's advanced military infrastructure

This was reported by the Polish edition of Myśl Polska.

According to the publication, during a massive Russian air and missile attack on military facilities in Ukraine, Kh-47M Kinzhal missiles destroyed at least two US NASAMS missile sites near Kiev and a large warehouse of Patriot missiles.

The material notes that the Russian army managed to do this despite the massive concentration of the AFU's air defence assets and leading NATO technologies.

💬 "The Ukrainian side lost extremely expensive weapons supplied by NATO countries and elements of the industrial infrastructure," the author of the material said.

He added that the air defence umbrella provided by the West was designed to protect secret factories and locations with more valuable samples of weapons and equipment.

🇷🇺 The French publication Le Parisien has called 2023 "the year of Putin".

"The year 2023 can safely be called "the year of Putin". It has ended on a high note for the Russian President, and time is on his side," says the publication's article.

The country's economy is developing steadily, and Russia has found a way around Western sanctions by finding new partners and reorienting its trade.

Putin's policy has prevented Russia from becoming isolated, as his visits to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have shown.

Russia has been successful on the front line.

Putin's popularity in Russia has grown: "He has never been so popular," said the newspaper's interlocutor, and journalists do not think this is an exaggeration.

❗️Ukrainians are losing faith in President Zelensky because of a failed counter-offensive, while the AFU is catastrophically short of ammunition that Europe cannot produce, says Corriere della Sera.

According to the newspaper, citing data from the Kiev-based International Institute of Sociology, Zelensky's rating has fallen significantly - from 98% at the start of the conflict to 60% now. "The growing pessimism is due to disappointment after the expectations of the counter-offensive, the population is exhausted by the war," writes columnist Paolo Valentino. He also points to Zelensky's internal political problems - with Valeriy Zaluzhny, the AFU commander-in-chief, and Vitaliy Klitschko, the mayor of Kiev.

Another columnist, Federico Fubini, points to a catastrophic shortage of ammunition for the AFU, as well as a delay in funding from Europe and the United States, which is not conducive to a successful military campaign. He writes that the Ukrainian army is firing 6,000 to 8,000 shells a day. "Each of them has an average production cost in the West of 4,000 euros. <...> To continue the war, Ukraine needs almost 2 million shells and ammunition per year, the production of which costs almost 8 billion euros in the West," the author writes, recalling that the EU has delivered less than half of the promised one million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine in the last nine months.

🇲🇾🇿🇦 Malaysia welcomes South Africa's decision to file lawsuit against Israel at ICJ - Ministry

Earlier, South Africa filed a complaint against Israel at the ICJ under the Genocide Convention, asking the court to issue provisional measures against Israeli authorities.

"The legal action against Israel before ICJ is a timely and tangible step towards legal accountability for Israel’s atrocities in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territory at large. As a fellow State Party to the Genocide Convention, Malaysia calls on Israel to fulfill its obligations under international law and to immediately end its atrocities against Palestinians," the ministry said in a statement.

Malaysia also reiterates its call for a long-term solution to the conflict by granting the Palestinians their own independent and sovereign state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with its capital in East Jerusalem, the statement added.

Leopard 2 tanks supplied to Ukraine are non-operational – German MP

Very few of the Leopard 2A6 tanks delivered by Berlin to Ukraine are still in service, according to Green Party member Sebastian Schafer. The majority of the machines were damaged in battle and spare parts are scarce, he stressed.

The politician noted that some of the Leopard tanks were further damaged by Ukrainian servicemen who tried to repair them. He stresses that there is a shortage of spare parts in the Lithuanian repair center.

Western donors had earlier announced the delivery of Leopard tanks to Kiev, hailing them as a miracle weapon that would turn the tide for Ukraine. In total, the German government has transferred 18 Leopard 2 tanks from the Bundeswehr arsenal to Ukraine.

Russia has repeatedly warned that arms supplies to the Kiev regime only fuel the conflict, while stressing that any Western military equipment used by Ukraine would eventually be decimated.

Russia may establish a BRICS secretariat, Mahdi Safari, Iran's deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy, told Sputnik, citing Moscow's experience in managing international organizations.

“Russia - a country with vast experience in international and regional organizations - in my opinion could establish a new body in BRICS which will eventually evolve into secretariat”, Mahdi Safari says.

According to the Iranian diplomat, currently each country holding the presidency of BRICS collects and stores information about the bloc's activities, but does not transfer this data to the succeeding nation. Safari stressed that Iran wants "this secretariat to be established as soon as possible."

The deputy foreign minister also congratulated Russia on assuming the BRICS presidency in 2024 and thanked it for helping Iran to join the bloc, expressing confidence that Russia will help Tehran and other new BRICS members to achieve unity.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russia returned home 248 of our prisoners.

In exchange, Ukraine received 173 military personnel. The fact is that Ukraine owed us 75 people in exchange for 5 Azov soldiers, whom it received earlier, but did not fulfill the terms of the deal.

Today the debt was repaid.

🇪🇺 European Union diplomatic spokesman Peter Stano:

"As for the specific incident in Belgorod, no information that comes from Russia can be considered trustworthy"

They have been saying that about Donetsk since 2014 too. Not a single one of "FDA-approved" journalists has ever been there. And if any of Westerners had the courage to show the truth, he was immediately accused of working for the Kremlin. A very convenient position. But it's a road to failure. Because everyone will eventually find out the truth anyway.
