My Secret Santa was @Found_This and I was drowning in tons of amazing gifts. 🎁
First and foremost bro took the extra mile to deliver it through my sister, and even got her, her fav chocolate as bribe lol. THEN that in on itself was sweet enough but bro went out and got me THREE epic and really high quality Theology study books. WHICH'S SOMETHING I LOVE!!! And I've really been needing!😍
And that's not enough, bro got one of my most favorite verses printed in HUGE and got it for me, now it's hanging in my room.😇
But wait there's more. Bro got me one of my most favorite indie game on steam. Not only is the game my personal fav, it's literally the #1 game on steam (under $15) and I've always wanted to own that game. It's my first Steam gift and I'm still so happy.🥰
Btw even if Mike hadn't got me anything he's been the most contributer in all of my open source projects, and even one of the most active mods in the community starting wayyy back in the early days. He's been sweet this entire time. So I'm honestly happy he's my Secret Santa.🌷

Found this Open-Source app that "downloads lyrics for the song, you're listening to". If you are using TASP or Telegram as a Spotify replacement you'll find this app really helpful because you don't have to search the song manually.

There was some chatter on Hacker News recently about Google's Gemini 2.0 Flash model and how it’s really good at parsing PDFs, so I tried it and it was really good. I used a Negarit Gazeta PDF that has English and Amharic text side by side. Gemini Flash extracted the text based on the format I wanted, plus gave me each language separately. That’s when I decided to revive an old project after 4 years (used OCR for the old one). Here is Negarit Gazette V2.

Tools and Resources used:
- Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash API for PDF parsing, also Google AI Studio for large files.
- Google’s IDX for development.
- Google’s Firebase for hosting.
- PDFs are from Open Gazeta (currently converted most of the 1995 and 1996 proclamations).
- Astro Starlight for the site.
If you find an interesting proclamation, feel free to contribute. There are still some manual corrections needed to some of the results generated, so every bit of help is appreciated. Planning on adding more proclamations and regulations in the future, it is going to be a great resource for AIs to train on.
