Very glad to wish a happy birthday for our friends at @Phoronix, who have been publishing Linux hardware reviews and news for 20 years as of today! ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ˜Ž

Just a one-line patch for the Linux driver for some of Intel CPUs had the effect of up to 72% improvement in performance!

It is honestly crazy, and makes you think about what other areas we don't know where this could be possible as well. ๐Ÿง

Original developer of the "neofetch" CLI information program has archived all of his public repositories, saying that he "have taken up for farming". โ˜บ๏ธ

It's definitely an interesting career shift; from software development to farming. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Why we don't cover software news on FOSS Post?

Because it's pointless to repeat what the original source is already saying in its official release announcement. Other websites do this for clicks and views, but as a reader, you should always prefer getting news from the source rather than some recycled blogspam website.

This is more prevalent in the open source world, where the source is probably more knowledgeable about their software than the journalist (random Internet guy, actually) reporting about it.

Cover only stuff that matters, and leave the fluff to fluffy ones.๐ŸŒน
