Russian attacks continued as before. In fact, while making that announcement, Russian forces were regrouping near Bakhmut—and by the morning of January 6, launched a major assault on Soledar, which they went on to occupy by the end of the following week. That same afternoon, Russia shelled Kherson. Civilians were killed.
This was not an isolated incident. On April 21, 2022, Putin theatrically ordered a halt to the storming of Azovstal. Yet Russia continued bombing the plant with high-explosive ordnance as if no order had ever been given.
A unilateral declaration by the Russian dictator, is not a ceasefire. It is a disinformation campaign—designed to manipulate public perception while the killing continues.

Under øvelse Jøssing fikk soldatene i Holt HV-område opplæring i mer enn bare kuler og krutt. Oberstløytnant Lars Morten Bjørkholt, sjefsjurist i Heimevernet, besøkte området for å undervise i militær politimyndighet.
– Jeg ville ikke bare gjennomgå regelverket, men også få soldatene til å reflektere over reelle situasjoner de kan møte. Målet er at de med friskt minne om både våpenkunnskap og juss skal kunne gjøre raske og gode vurderinger under press, sier Bjørkholt.
Den nye loven om militær politimyndighet trådte i kraft sommeren 2023 og erstattet loven fra 1988. Den fastsetter hvem som har politimyndighet i Forsvaret og hvor og når den gjelder. For Heimevernet er det viktig å forstå dette – noen regler er klare og enkle, mens andre krever skjønn, som for eksempel hva som regnes som "umiddelbar nærhet" til et militært område.

‘Our crew is far from home, but their mission strengthens our defence at home. The UK is our closest European ally. This cooperation is vital for security in the High North. The experience gained from integrated carrier operations bolsters the defence of our waters and strengthens Norway’s security,’ said Minister of Defence Sandvik.
A British Wildcat helicopter will be embarked aboard HNoMS Roald Amundsen throughout the deployment.

I dag, tysdag 22.april, segla KNM Roald Amundsen frå heimehamn på Haakonsvern for siste gong på åtte månadar. Fram til slutten av året skal fregatten vere ein del av ei britisk hangarskipsstyrke leia av HMS Prince of Wales.
Fregatten vil spela ei viktig rolle i å støtta operasjonen og bidra til å oppretthalde gruppa si operasjonsevne gjennom heile seglasen. Eit britisk Wildcat-helikopter vil operere direkte frå dekket på KNM Roald Amundsen, og styrken skal gjennomføra fleire felles øvingar undervegs, mellom anna i Middelhavet og Indiahavet. Dette er ei unik moglegheit til å styrkja samarbeidet med allierte, samstundes som vi viser vårt engasjement for global tryggleik.
