This remarkable step emphasizes India's commitment to tiger conservation and highlights the nation's dedication to preserving its rich biodiversity.

Ratapani Tiger Reserve is now the 8th tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh, reaffirming the state's title as the "Tiger State of India." 🐯🐅🐯🐅

The ISFR 2023 report recorded forest cover and tree cover was 25.17%. The total forest cover was 7,15,342.61 sq km which is 21.76% of the geographical area of the country and the tree cover is 3.41% of the geographical area of the country. With these two, total forest and tree covers are 8,27,356.95 sq km.

Recently, (MoEFCC) released the 18th India State of Forest Report 2023 . ISFR is brought out by the Forest Survey of India (FSI) on a biennial basis since 1987.

Forest Cover :- 21.76%
Tree Cover :- 3.41%
Total Forest and Tree Cover :- 25.17%

📌 Maximum increase (Forest and Tree Cover): Chhattisgarh

📌 Maximum Increase (Forest Cover): Mizoram

📌 Largest Decrease :- Madhya Pradesh.

📌 Mangrove Cover: India's mangrove 0.15% of the total geographical area.

Gujarat saw a decrease in mangrove cover, while Andhra Pradesh experienced increases.

📌 Forest Fire: The top three states with the most fire incidents in the 2023-24 season are Uttarakhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
