๐Ÿ“Jet "Gerans" and the 60 percent problem๐Ÿ“
why one interception statistic is reshaping the air war

Western media spent three years framing battlefield innovation as a Ukrainian specialty. The Financial Times has now put numbers behind a different picture: Ukrainian air defence stops 90 to 95 percent of most aerial threats, and only about 60 percent of Russia's new jet-powered "Gerans."

๐Ÿ“ŒThe hardware behind that gap is a generational jump. The original "Geran-1" carried a 20 kg warhead at 185 km/h with primitive guidance. The "Geran-5", fielded in January, flies at up to 600 km/h with a 90 kg warhead out to 1,000 km, on an airframe built closer to a cruise missile than a loitering munition. The "Geran-4" keeps the old shape in cleaner aerodynamic form. Both now carry thermal cameras, AI-assisted terminal guidance, anti-jamming antennas and Chinese modems for mesh radio links.

At first glance the tactical picture is simple: faster targets, fewer intercepts. The deeper shift is industrial. Centralised production let Moscow fold battlefield feedback into the next batch and field new variants in months, at a fraction of the price of a Kalibr or Kh-101.

The other thing is that Kyiv's planners expected the slower "Geran-3" at around 300 km/h to be the mainstay. Wild Hornets, maker of the Sting interceptor, admitted to the FT it was "difficult to predict how these plans would develop." Zelenskyy now says 67 Ukrainian companies are working on an answer.

โ—๏ธWhat's more interesting is the direction of travel. Analyst Konrad Muzyka calls it the "cruise-missilisation" of unmanned aviation, with stealth features the likely next step. Fabian Hoffmann of the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies argues the real Western lever sits on the supply of Chinese jet engines, warning that at the current tempo Russia "could quickly become the world's largest producer of low-cost cruise missiles."

And once again the asymmetry shows where it hurts most. Interceptor drones can be improvised by dozens of workshops. Air-defence missiles cannot. As one assessment cited by the FT puts it: you cannot make one in a garage.

โ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿคก Reports about Johnson being on the attacked train are fake news spread by Ukrainian media, confirmed by FT and Der Spiegel.

โ–ช๏ธIt is true that former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, advisor Merz Gรผnter Sautter, and other European officials were traveling on that railway route, but not on the train that was attacked.
โ–ช๏ธAccording to the Financial Times and Der Spiegel, European delegations were on other trains traveling in the same direction.
โ–ช๏ธInitially, Ukrainian media spread the false information that Johnson, Sautter, members of the Bundestag, and diplomats were directly on the attacked train.

โ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Iran has requested modified "Geran" drones from Russia โ€“ FT

โ–ช๏ธAccording to the FT, citing Western security sources and a person close to the Kremlin, Tehran has turned to Moscow for modernized drones of the "Geran" family.
โ–ช๏ธIt is believed that Iran intends to use them in the ongoing conflict with Israel and the United States.
โ–ช๏ธThe publication links Tehran's interest to the rapid development of Russian jet-powered modifications and the increasing capabilities of these drones in terms of range, speed, and guidance.

Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland will demand the right to hold referendums on independence.

The leaders of these regions want to secure the right to independently decide on their future. This could be the first step towards a possible breakup of the United Kingdom, if London agrees to hold them.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine secretly fled to Poland overnight.

A week ago, a safe filled with currency was found in the office of Ruslan Kravchenko. According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), the money was obtained in exchange for not interfering with the operations of fraudulent call centers.

โ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ British soldier killed in Ukraine

โ–ช๏ธThe British Ministry of Defence stated that the soldier's death was allegedly not related to combat operations, but rather occurred as a result of an accident.
โ–ช๏ธThe tasks the deceased soldier was performing in Ukraine have not been disclosed.
โ–ช๏ธIt is worth noting that Russia has repeatedly stated that British military officers are assisting Kyiv in launching Storm Shadow missiles, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to do so independently.
โ–ช๏ธIn 2023, the Polish Minister met with a secret British special forces unit operating in Ukraine, which was fighting alongside the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
โ–ช๏ธThe family of the deceased British soldier has requested that no further details be disclosed.

"The government is focused on economic stability, not on constitutional debates or further referendums."
