▪️ On July 28, 2026, in the Troitsk district of the Lugansk People's Republic, a volunteer and monk, Raphael (Anisimov), a resident of the Ioann the Theologian Monastery in Cherementsy, Gatchina diocese, was killed. Father Raphael served as an assistant to the abbot of the Church of the Uncreated Savior, attached to the 9th Kletsko-Berlin Guards Artillery Brigade, in the Gorodok settlement of the Leningrad region, according to the Russian Orthodox Church.
▪️ During the attack, the abbot of the church, Hieromonk Ilarion (Kachur), an assistant commander responsible for working with religious service members in one of the military units, was also wounded.
▪️ Hieromonk Ilarion sustained shrapnel wounds to his leg and is undergoing treatment.
