The German word for Grandchild, Enkel, literally means Little Ancestor.

The attested Old High German form represents a diminutive form of ano, Ancestor; Grandfather' (see "Ahn"), which was formed by the West Germanic diminutive suffix -(n)kl-, which in Old High German always occurs together with the likewise diminutive suffix -ī(n). Obviously, the Germanic peoples, like other Indo-European peoples, had a particularly strong bond to the generation after next, which was often expressed in their names.

“Lord of the Northern Night” Carolyn Emerick

Máni shines his bright beams down,
while we’re fast asleep.
Unaware though we may be,
a solemn vigil he doth keep.

His children slumber, ‘round the world,
& most are far from home.
Engulfed by the frigid night,
Please, know we’re not alone.

Scattered by the four winds
to new nations artificial,
Máni’s folk are dreaming of
something almost sacrificial.

We dream of homelands far away,
and we remember our ancestors.
We’re grateful for the journey’s took
to escape from their oppressors.

We thank you, Máni, for the night,
and the solitude it brings.
Thank you for the velvet skies
laced with silver fairies’ wings.

And when we wake in the morn
refreshed and made anew,
we can handle come what may
thirst quenched by morning dew.

Máni’s children, sleep and dream
of a future shining bright.
Refresh our lands, both old and new,
stand up for our birthright.

I have learned much and more from the Blue Heron.
She has taught me the strength that can be found in solitary contemplation, but also in relying on another.
The Blue Heron is very solitary, but when time to mate both Blue Herons build the nest, incubate the eggs and raise the chicks to a certain age.
The Blue Heron can travel to and from any other realm with ease.
She will teach this if you just ask and listen.

Blue Herons can be vicious if their territory in encroached upon. Or if they feel they are in danger. They teach personal strength and power.
They can also teach Old Magics.
Magics of the ebb and flow of the river which in turn teaches the manipulation of reality.

People keep telling us that our ancestral religion was destroyed. Half of them dance on the supposed grave whilst others tell us they’ve “reconstructed” it for us. The truth is that it lives within each and every one of us. It’s in our instincts. Learning to hear and trust our own instincts is the important bit. And when the time comes, you will KNOW what to do. Don’t overthink it. Do not suppress your own inner voice. Let NOBODY else’s dogma drown out your own instinctual guide. It is within you. It is within all of us. All we need to do is let ourselves ride the wind 🌬 and before you know it, we will be flying 🦋💝 ~ @oakwisebecoming
My three-a-half-year old son just pointed at a picture of this statue and enthusiastically told me:

"Look! This is Arminius! He defeated the Romans!"

Don't tell me that a better future is not possible!

Raise your children right! Awaken their Teuton spirit!
Fairytales contain a lot of knowledge about our Northwestern-European way of thinking that we had before abrahamism took over. One of these great fairytales is 'Frau Holle'. The deity Holle is very important in Northern-German and Dutch paganism. She is a very complex deity that rules the underworld and plays an important role in nature and in our 'wyrd'. By learning more about this fairytale, and understanding it, we can recover our pre-christian way of thinking again and teach this to our children. In the near future the Tribe of the Fox will release 2 videos about this fairytale and its meaning, because its so important. For now, and for the German speakers....here is a beautiful German familymovie about Holle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDYxiXi4Toc&t=8s
