Navigating dicey waters is nothing new for our people. We will survive. It is time to utilize wisdom, cunning, and look to our ancestors to protect and guide us through the modern #witchhunt. We will get through this! This recent talk by Thomas Sheridan gives some thoughtful and intuitive insight to the situation and advice on how to navigate the rough waters ahead. ☀️🌷🦋 @oakwisebecoming

The German word for Grandchild, Enkel, literally means Little Ancestor.

The attested Old High German form represents a diminutive form of ano, Ancestor; Grandfather' (see "Ahn"), which was formed by the West Germanic diminutive suffix -(n)kl-, which in Old High German always occurs together with the likewise diminutive suffix -ī(n). Obviously, the Germanic peoples, like other Indo-European peoples, had a particularly strong bond to the generation after next, which was often expressed in their names.

“Lord of the Northern Night” Carolyn Emerick

Máni shines his bright beams down,
while we’re fast asleep.
Unaware though we may be,
a solemn vigil he doth keep.

His children slumber, ‘round the world,
& most are far from home.
Engulfed by the frigid night,
Please, know we’re not alone.

Scattered by the four winds
to new nations artificial,
Máni’s folk are dreaming of
something almost sacrificial.

We dream of homelands far away,
and we remember our ancestors.
We’re grateful for the journey’s took
to escape from their oppressors.

We thank you, Máni, for the night,
and the solitude it brings.
Thank you for the velvet skies
laced with silver fairies’ wings.

And when we wake in the morn
refreshed and made anew,
we can handle come what may
thirst quenched by morning dew.

Máni’s children, sleep and dream
of a future shining bright.
Refresh our lands, both old and new,
stand up for our birthright.
