The Full Moon tonight, at sundown, marks the traditional start of summer & the first night of what pre-christian Scandinavians called Sigurblót (“Victory Sacrifice,”) believed to have been the most important of the three major blots of the year.
To the Anglish, Frisians, & Franks the celebration was called Eostre.
“Odin established the same law in his land that had been in force in Asaland… On winter day (first day of winter) there should be blot for a good year, & in the middle of winter for a good crop; & the third blot should be on summer day, a Victory-blot.”

"As long as Heathenry lasted he was held three blots: one on Winter Nights, a second at mid-Winter, & the third at the start of summer."
