This is specifically on Polish Slavic traditional wedding wear, but in all Slavic nations, women were known to wear flower crowns. The tradition of the flower crown is very ancient in Europe, and I personally do not believe that all European/indo-European nations got their flower crown idea from the Romans. Flower crowns were worn by Europeans long before the Romans came on the scene. https://www.google.com/amp/s/lamusdworski.wordpress.com/2017/02/26/flower-crowns/amp/

Beekeepers kept the custom of Telling the Bees any events in the family, especially of any deaths.

If the beekeeper died the surviving spouse or oldest son would knock on the hive 3 times & say “Little bees, our lord is dead, leave not while we are in distress."

Painting (1897) by Charles Napier Hemy of a widow and her son telling the bees about the death of their master. #folklorethursday

The Shamaness of Bad Dürrenberg
c. 6500 BCE (Mesolithic)

The Shamaness was found in 1934 in Bad Dürrenberg, Sachsen-Anhalt (DE), buried with an infant in a grave decorated with red ochre.

In the grave were numerous bones and other animal artefacts from deer, crane and turtles, as well as antlers, that would have comprised a magnificent ritual headdress. She was aged between 25 and 30 at her time of death.

The Shamaness was well nourished and held a position of power and prestige in her tribe.
The seasons are changing and summer makes way for autumn. This is the season in which Vrouw Holle becomes more present. Recently Dirkje made a great video about het personal relation with this ancient deity. So now it is time to tell the fairytale of Vrouw Holle. Next weekend the Tribe of the Fox will release a video in which we explain the fairytale. It is Vrouw/Frau Holle season🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdBoEsAXmAY
