Getting Started with Flutter and IntelliJ
Hey everyone,
Even as a seasoned developer, I had a spot of trouble getting the Flutter dev environment set up with IntelliJ so i have created a walkthrough on how to do it.https://simonotoole.medium.com/getting-started-with-flutter-for-intellij-d4f45f2067b0Its the first article in the series. In future articles i will be walking through using IntelliJ as a Flutter development environment in increasing complexity. Support FlutterBlue Development
Hello everybody. I have been working with flutter and flutter_blue for a few weeks in android studio.Monday night I made the first release build of my app (flutter build appbundle) and generated the off-line installable apks (java -jar bundletool-all-1.4.0.jar build-apks..., java -jar bundletool-all-1.4.0.jar install-apks...) only to find out that the release version of the app can't access the phone's bluetooth adapter. The issue is raised here https://github.com/pauldemarco/flutter_blue/issues/726.Then I found this post https://www.reddit.com/r/FlutterDev/comments/l5lp8a/push_for_first_class_bluetooth_support/?utm_source=ifttt, titled "Push for first class bluetooth support".Paul De Marco, flutter_blue author, answers the reddit post: "... I wish I had more time to maintain the plugin, but it just doesn’t put food on the table and other projects take priority. I’m hoping to circle back and merge some of the wonderful PR’s the community has submitted, but I can’t offer any timelines...".There are 349 pull requests for flutter_blue at the project's github page.Does the situation come as a surprise to anyone? So here is an idea: raise your hand if you would be willing to contribute twenty bucks or more toward raising thirty thousend for the cause. If I see enough hands I will do my best to contact Paul, make the offer, and get back to you all with a timeline and Paul's account, if he says yes.Who says aye?To make a pledge, join the discord server Support FlutterBlue Development https://discord.gg/Yw4Y7Ceb8f

Project Refit is a nonprofit that built a social media app for veterans and first responders using Flutter. We need help improving it. The original was built by some Drexel University seniors (LOVE THEM FOREVER!) We are now looking for a bunch of volunteer developers who can help us now.
Hey everyone, as the title explains we are looking for volunteer flutter developers. The app was built using Flutter and is hosted on Google Cloud. We are a small nonprofit with a HUGE vision. We have an innovative mobile app that solves the "time" problem it takes conducting Buddy Checks.Buddy Checks are commonplace in the military and among police officers. It's usually two people assigned to each other to check on one another to prevent suicide. When they leave the military, they lose this buddy check system. For the people who keep conducting buddy checks after the military forget to do it because life gets in the way. We made this process seamless. If you're interested in helping us, we need it. We have helped hundreds of veterans and first responders. We want to make this better and help tens of thousands of them.Reach out to [j@projectrefit.us](mailto:j@projectrefit.us) if you want to learn more.
