One of the reasons I love #Flutter is that it offers built-in #widgets for almost everything you can think of 🤩 Want to build checkbox tiles? You can use #CheckboxListTile as shown here! 💙

I have this weekend to get familiar with Flutter. Any tips and recommendations for courses/tutorials?
I work as jr. frontend developer. Currently working with Typescript, React and Angular.I could be switched to a project that is written with Flutter. I planned to watch some courses over the weekend. I know that two days are not enough but I just need to get familiar with the basics.I hope you could recommend me some tutorials or courses to watch and share any tips.I am using webstorm for frontend development and planning to use it also for the flutter apps. Is webstorm good or do you recommend some other IDE?

Riverpod Based Localization / Translation with Flutter Localizations Example
Hey Everyone,I've had major issues with the easy_localization package since upgrading to null safety. So I took the plunge into implementing Flutter's built in library for localization / internationalization. There is more boilerplate code, but the generator makes autocompleting your string id's really great. I was also evaluating switching to the i18n_extension package, which appears to be newer and more maintained. But my app needs to support a lot of users in 8 languages, so I wanted a more bulletproof approach tightly matching my Riverpod state management with less magic behind the scenes abstraction.I realize when you change languages in those plugins, you have the benefit of only rebuilding the text strings. The drawback with my approach is that the "watch" function is above MaterialApp. But this works fine for me, because if the language changes, my app needs to re-initialize and fetch a ton of data from the server in the updated language / locale. So the experience wouldn't improve with those plugins.I created an example basic app that uses Riverpod to handle state of the current locale, and StateNotifier to update the app when the locale is changed. The Locale is also saved to persistence for the next app use.It will also attempt to initialize from the platform locale (on web and mobile), and use the closest language if the exact locale is not available, with a fallback option for no matches. Here's The Example:
There's more in the README file.https://github.com/mdrideout/Riverpod-Localization

Technical Interview for Flutter
I have a Flutter Technical Interview in the next two weeks. It would be like screen sharing and writing code and all.I have built four apps in Flutter - pretty heavy duty and have good knowledge about state management and UI.My question is what should I prepare for this interview? I know there is always something to learn and I want to do my beat in the interview and job.For example, I love to use Provider as State Management and don't like Streams at all. Would it be wise to tell the same to the interviewer if they ask me about Streams? This is my first time giving a live technical interview like this. So if you have any experience on how should I approach it and how to prepare well, I would love you to share.Thanks.

Why is GetX hated ?
Hey my fellow flutter devs. I've been working with flutter from the past 7 months n I just discovered a package called Get/GetX for UI and State Management. Since there were a few issues I ran into while using I asked the community a question regarding that and the amount of hate I received for the package was extreme. I'm kinda in a doubtful phase do I use it for further processes or not. Why is it getting hated soo much

Just accepted my first offer out of college and it's a mobile developer position that uses flutter! Will this in anyway hurt my career? I like what I see from Flutter but if it doesn't take off I'd like to be able to easily get a job doing something else like React/Java/C#.
Basically the title. I just landed my first gig and they wanted a mobile developer. I don't know Flutter at all but they hired me and expect me to learn it on the job. I'm excited about everything, but I'm worried about my future career prospects. I don't mind switching to another language completely, in fact, I'd be willing to do anything for a decent work/life balance, pay and location, but I'm worried if using Flutter will pigeon-hole me or make me look like an unattractive candidate compared to the guys who've worked with enterprise C# or Java.
